Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Spent some more time with Qore. I kind of like it. As others mentioned, it is a interactive magazine which gives you some cool things like exclusives themes/games which isn't bad. The quality is good and the menus are really nice and sleek. Which of course was expected from Sony.
My biggest problem with it... advertisements. Seriously, make it free and put all the ads you want or get rid of them. Paying $2.99 per month or $24.99 or whatever it is should equal no advertisements.
I know there are ads in magazines but with magazines you can just turn the page or look at the ad if you're interested. Here, you can't skip it.Comment

One nice thing about SOCOM is you can get your clan together and stay together and just hop around to different games. Can't wait for this game.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
it's more realalistic than COD4. You can customize your weapons more(scopes, grips, etc. I would say its a bit like GRAW but not as futureistic. The online play is great though. Most matches are 11 rounds and there are no respawns. I guess also Counter-strike comes to mind a bit too.

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Has anyone played Flow? I downloaded it yesterday and then immediately purchased it and the expansion pack as well. One of the most addicting games ever.
Basically you start off as a tiny creature and then by eating other creatures you get bigger and then you evolve into a higher species and so forth. If you haven't tried it, do it. Most relaxing, hectic and fun game I have played in a long time.
Plus the controls are something new to me, it uses the six axis to move your creature, ex tilt forward goes toward the top of the screen, left goes to the left of the screen, etc... At first I thought it was tilt left on the controller moved the creature to "its" left on the screen, not to the left of the "tv" screen.
Anyways I highly recommend it.
If this doesn't go in this thread, then feel free to get rid of, I couldn't find anything like the 360 marketplace thread. maybe i missed it.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
I'd say comparison wise it's hard for me to think of something close to it. It's not Gears or Resident Evil in terms of how it plays, maybe it's closest comparison style-wise is Star Wars Battlefront?I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
That would be really neat. I've been huge on the Socom games. I got the original shortly after it came out and have been hooked since. Its pretty sad as i've come a long way from being the high pitched kid that could hold his own, to a much more mature kid out to help the team hating the high pitched kids lol.
But anyways i'll be down for some SOCOM gaming with ya'll when it drops.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
It's 3rd person not a FPS. It's not really comparable to GRAW or R6V or COD4 -- doesn't have that same feel while playing. It takes more liberties with some things like a BF game would in terms of doing silly stuff while playing, otherwise it's relatively realistic.
I'd say comparison wise it's hard for me to think of something close to it. It's not Gears or Resident Evil in terms of how it plays, maybe it's closest comparison style-wise is Star Wars Battlefront?Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
SOCOM is most similar to Counter-Strike. Probably not so much gameplay wise, but the way that it is set up. You only get one life and if you die you sit out the rest of the round watching your teammates. This makes staying alive that much more important, which sets it apart from those other shooters. Games are round based and the first team to win 6 rounds wins the match. SOCOM 1 is still my favorite online shooter.
I don't think there's a comparison gameplay wise, which is why the game is good. There's nothing like it.Last edited by flyriceboii; 06-11-2008, 01:33 PM.Comment

Fatal Inertia hitting PSN next week.
http://kotaku.com/5015464/fatal-iner...-psn-next-week
Koei has dropped us a line to let us know that Fatal Inertia EX, originally Fatal Inertia for the Xbox 360, should be hitting the PlayStation network next Thursday, June 19th. The PlayStation 3 release of the game features a retooled flight model for improved handling and faster speeds, as well as an all new racing environment - the Fatal Inertia Proving Grounds - set in the arid desert. Another added bonus for the PS3 is the ability to steer with the SIXAXIS motion sensing controls, a feature that I've played for for a few minutes and then immediately turned off in every other PS3 racing game that's featured it. Who knows, this might be the one!
Fatal Inertia EX will be available in demo form along with the full version, which will set you back $29.99.Comment
