PixelJunk Eden Getting Patched This Week, Expanded Later
Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert swung by the official PlayStation blog today to discuss the future of PixelJunk Eden -- both over the next week and the next few months. According to the game's executive producer, a patch for the trippy pollination platformer is scheduled to drop Thursday, January 15, with a full-on expansion -- titled PixelJunk Eden Encore -- planned for later this year.
The team at Q are still keeping the details of the expansion close to their chests, but Cuthbert did reveal what's in store for this week's patch. Aside from a fix for the game's multiplayer camera, most of the changes are geared toward making the game more accessible for casual gamers that can't quite get the knack of Eden's precision platforming. Large crystals, for instance, will now refill half of the garden's time limit, and players will be able to restart at the last Spectra they collected if they still manage to run out of time. "I simply want as many people as possible to experience [PixelJunk Eden] in full," Cuthbert said of the patch, which should help struggling players do just that.
What of the contingent of hardcore, score-chasing Eden players, you ask? While the upcoming patch makes it easier for inexperienced players to reach new heights in Eden's gardens, the Trophies associated with completing a garden will only be awarded to those who abstain from using the new continue mechanic. Basically, you'll still have your bragging rights, even with all the riffraff horning in on your turf.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Magic Ball released on the PSN store today
Definitely a Breakout-type of game, but there's something about it looking so nice in HD. Might pick this up at $10 if others are going to - it has 2-player local and online support.
