Oh man, I'm loving this pinball game already. I've only played 1 table so far (V12) but it feels so much like the old Williams tables. There are also plenty of camera options and the ability to move the dot matrix display around the screen, or turn it off. The game has some little arcadey effect too (like points showing up on the playing field) but those can be turned off as well.

Online I'm having some issues, but it could just be people ragequitting when they lose their first ball early. I'll know better how that works once I start playing friends.

BTW, the rules for each table can be found on the pause screen - and at least for V12, it's pretty complicated. Just the way I like it.

I can confirm that Rag doll kung fu is free for a week. I guess sprint is doing some kind of promotion. Who says advertizing on console games is all bad.

Wow, that really sucks for people who bought Rag Doll. I wonder if Sony will give me the credit back.

Does the Pinball game have online MP? Thinking of buying it, I'll try the demo for now.

I'm guessing there will be online multiplayer DLC at some point to get some money from people getting the game for free.

After having just came out of a thread posting a little "MP" rant, which are you referring to? Online or offline?

I downloaded the demo (and I'm actually hesitant for now to purchase it), and it describes both an offline and online version. Offline is a trade-off, like classic pinball (when your ball goes down, you pass the controller). Online seems to have a simultaneous run where, if you have a webcam, you can have a PiP screen pop up on others' TVs while playing that captures both video and audio (either that, or the audio is still through a headset). I don't know what the modes are exactly.

As for DLC, there is word about new tables that will be available as the game ages, but there's word as to whether or not they'll be free (which they probably won't).

Yeah, Online is definitely a simultaneous thing. The idea is that you play to a certain score, and get as many balls as you need to get there. But there is an option to penalize your score for every ball you lose - that's set on the option screen when you create a room.

I'm hopping online now, taking on all comers!

Wow...I'm beginning to appreciate this game even more the more I play it. Not only are the physics spot-on, there's an operator's menu for each table (that you access on the dot-matrix board!) that allows you to change all sorts of physics elements and game difficulty. For instance you can change the angle of the table so that the ball doesn't roll downward quite as fast. This comes at a price though - you can't unlock trophies or be on the scoreboard with anything but the "factory" defaults. You can change things like the color of the dot matrix and (i believe) the sensitivity of the flippers (they are most definitely pressure-sensitive to the button presses) without affecting your trophy-hunting though.

Each table has its own menu, and they can be adjusted individually.

For $10, this thing is pretty darned deep.

I agree this game has surprised me a lot. If you have ever played Pinball before, I would say this is a must own game.

It is, but it's missing a small element I can't quite point out. I suppose it's the fact that while I'm playing pinball, I'm just not feeling the "pinball" aspect much. The sound effects and little musical cues are lacking compared to what you'd hear from an actual machine, there isn't an HUD (unless it's only available when you purchase the game), and unless I just haven't been focusing much, I'm having trouble seeking the "missions" you can play for a table.

Like, consider Pinball 3D on Windows... everything is very spelled out. I'm not saying this game should be like that, but at least I understand I know what I'm doing and what gives me the most points beyond turning on arcade mode and simply trying to survive.

However, I have to give it props, as this game is flippin' awesome (EDIT: wow, no pun intended there). They definitely have captured the elements, especially the physics... I guess I'm just complaining to complain at this point because I found I'm simply not very good at it. Oh, and the music off the HDD is another plus!

EDIT: Wait, just found out what I'm doing wrong in terms of score. At least on the demo you can use the right stick to edit your layout but it doesn't show up on default. I fixed it.
