XBOX 360 Headset: Ear Force X3

I was wondering if anyone uses this when they game on their 360. I'm considering getting one but not until about a month or so from now. I think it's coming out tomorrow. They have free shipping. I remember hearing how people play through their headphones. I can't find any other type of headphones that I could compare this too. Anyone have ideas or options that could give me the basics that the Turtle Beach Ear Force line have? It seems like a reasonable price and I'm really eager to use it for my sports game primarily. Surprised that I didn't see another thread about this topic.

Here is what I use and it is awesome. The Tritton Technologies AX360.

I like it because it can be used just as a general stereo type PC headset and is not specific to the 360. It cost me $92 on amazon.com about 3 or 4 months ago.

You just can't beat 5.1 surround sound and it really does give you very, very good positional audio. The only real knock on it is that the inline volume control offers 5 different volume adjustments for the volume, like left/front, right/front, etc etc and no one master volume. But it's a very minor complaint.

The Xbox Live works great and my friends say they can hear me clear as a bell, much better than the Xbox Live that comes with the 360. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Is this what you use on XBL, O? That's insane! I can't see myself wearing that behemoth while gaming. I would guess the noise cancellation is top notch, huh?

Haha, yeah I wear it when I play online. It's big but not very heavy, however after about 4 or 5 hours my ears get a little 'sweaty' is all. It does 100% noise cancellation so the whole freakin' world could be burning down around you and you'd not know. It does rumble but it's fairly subtle, not like head shaking or anything like that, LOL.

As I said, I'd highly recommend it just because now I can finally hear my opponents really well as well as hearing the gaming sounds in my headset in 5.1 stereo while playing.

I just have the 360 digital optical out hooked into the 5.1 dolby digital box that comes with it. That's all you have to do.

No, the 360 optical out goes to the dolby digital box, then the headset plugs into that box. It's not a wireless headset. The Xbox Live microphone then plugs into your controller just like your regular 360 headset. It has about 15-20 feet of cord which is long enough to allow me to reach my beer fridge without taking my headset off

I don't think so, I believe the "box" he refers to comes with the headset, so you just plug the headset components into the digital out of the 360

Um, that's a bit better. I hate that there isn't a master volume scroll on there but I can definitely use that. It's a little more costly. Does it work with multiple things also like the PS3 & PC? I like that one a little better. Of course, careful consideration before pulling the gun. I can definitely imagine playing Crackdown, GTA IV, NBA 2k8, and whatever else I can get my hands on. Oh, and the Turtle Beach doesn't seem to have 5.1 either. That was what I was really looking for. Something to allow me to utilize the 5.1 on my gaming console. Eventually, I'll get a receiver and dual media player (Blu & HD) to put in the living room. I'M DREAMING BIG!!
