You don't need a digital receiver at all. The 5.1 dolby digital box comes with it that does the decoding. You just plug from your 360 into the 5.1 dolby digital box that comes with it, then plug your headset into that box.

I got mine on Amazon.com over the July 4th weekend. It was $99.99 and I used a 10% off coupon to get it for $90.00. They also offer a 2 year replacement plan for $6.99 which I bought for it (and would recommend since it seems headsets can get thrown down a lot from my experience heh). btw - that Xbox 360 Headset Adapter that some people are saying you need with it, which costs another $9.99 is not needed if you are fine without having a MUTE button. The headset plugs directly into your controller bottom. If you want a mute feature though you need to get that. I got a bad Xbox 360 Headset Adapter apparently cuz the sound was cutting in and out so I don't even use mine. It was just waste of $10 IMO to buy that thing. If i want to mute it I just move the mic away from my face.

EDIT - Looks like Buy.com has it too if you have a coupon for there.....I think google checkout may work on this too for an extra $10 off if youv'e never used it before..

As for the PS3, i'm not sure about that because doesn't the PS3 have to input using USB? However I see it does say it supports PS2 so maybe it would.

This thing works fantastic for Rainbow Six and Bioshock, you can hear things behind you, in front of you, to your side, etc, just as you would on a kickin' 5.1 stereo receiver setup.

Has anyone found this in any store as of yet? I was at Circuit City and saw the X2 model. I believe it is last years model for $99 bucks.

Nope, I was waiting for it but when I went to inquire on the order status, I noticed my order was cancelled......GRRR !!! Apparently I used a non-verified Paypal shipping address. Thought they were all verified because I've had stuff shipped to three different addresses over the years.

Odogg, I do have a question about this headset. Do you hear the voices of other players well when the games sounds are playing ?? I see that Turtle Beach has a new model coming out (The X3) that has a dynamic voice feature where the player voices over XBL will dynamically increase as the game sounds increase. It also has a feature where you can hear your own voice through the headset. Does the AX360 do all of this ??

Yeah you just turn down the game audio some and you can hear the other players just fine. You never hear your own voice though. I wouldn't want that, that would be distracting IMO.

I have the X2 wireless gaming earphones from Turtle Beach. If the X3 is anything like the X2 then stay away. I should have bought the Audio Xtreme 5.1 headsets when I was considering, but NOOOO I just had to have wireless.

So, basically the Turtle Beach Sucks?? Good thing one of you guys went out on a limb. I have a thing in my ebay account that has the Audio Extreme just begging to be bought. Might pull the trigger if I get the money worked out right. We'll see though. Was just thinking about this.
