Anybody notice things loading slower than normal after the update? My settings, roster, etc. files took a long time to load on NBA 2k8. My playlist settings in Halo 3 also seemed to take a long time to load.

My whole dash moved slow as molasses. I also locked up twice while just viewing the dash.

Setting up games in COD4 was really slow last night. Game invites took forever and when people joined a party the game would freeze for a few seconds.

i've never been able to get my 360 to connect to my WMC notebook. anyone have any tips? is it the fact that my desktop that my 360 is connected through via router does not have Windows Media Center?

Yep. Mine was horrible last night. I locked up 2 different times while viewing the dash and then I gave up. I figured it was a bandwidth problem due to the number of people downloading the update, but aholbert and somiss stated they were moving much faster so I don't know.

Mine froze while vieiwing my dashboard, as well, but it would unfreeze about three minutes later.

Is your laptop connected via wireless or a network cable?

My dashboard flies. I updated as soon as it was released (about 5/6 in the morning yesterday) and it's been nothing but quick.

Same here........I think the problem is that with the new **** on the interface, interactivity...............its slowing it down. I complained about the same thing last night and people were telling me it was because of everyone downloading the update. Once its on my 360, it shouldn't matter about everyone else's on how slow the dash runs.

my desktop (non-Window Media Center model) is wired to my router & I have no issues..

try deleting your cache maybe that will help

Here is how to delete cache incase you didn't know.

To perform the function, access 'memory' in the system blade, and then highlight the hard drive. Now press: Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X. The following message should appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?" Select Yes.

It still has to connect to the server to get your friends info, advertisements etc...

Yeah, it's definitely the XBL service, not the dash itself, since almost everything on the dash is fed from XBL.
