I would just get one of those nifty microfiber rags, those pick up dust and whatnot awesomely. Thankfully my area's not that dusty though.

I've done it for years with no problems. Now I don't spray the console but rather the rag. Then I wipe them down. Maybe that's why my launch 360 is still going strong

There is no way that I can imagine that it would be a good idea. My launch 360 is till going strong too, but there is no way I would put pledge on it, much less the PS3. I actually user the swiffer sweeper cloths to clean my electronics. The work great for dust.

I don't see how Pledge on a plastic casing is going to hurt anything, unless you were spraying directly at the PS3.

Oh i forgot to mention that every playstation that i purchased execpt my last one (slim) has had prblems i have a very dusty home.
i found an open box 60 gig at ebgames for $360, but i didnt get it for 2 reasons
              1. when i looked at it, it was fairly scratched up
              2. no warranty on it

as someone whose 360 has crashed 5 times, i dont want to risk not having a warranty - so i just got a ps3 from best buy

Can you simply transfer mp3 and jpg files to the hard drive on the PS3? Like with a USB flash drive or networked PC.

Yep, either way. You can set up Windows Media Player to stream video, music, and pictures to it. Really, I don't see much of a need to actually put MP3's on mine. I supposed custom soundtracks but that's not a big deal to me. I just stream everything to it.
