Seriously? They can't even get avatars from their exclusive games? A freaking fly!

I've ranted on the PSN avatars since the day I bought a PS3, so I'll spare a repeat. I doubt they'll ever update or upgrade them. Right now my avatar is a box filled with gold, black and white horizontal stripes. What is it supposed to be? I don't know. Which game did it come from? I don't know. I just chose it because I've never seen anyone else who has it and its colors fits my MizzouTigerrr PSN name.

Makes sense to me man.

They should at least allow the options to take a snapshot of the Home avatar and use that.

Or at least charge for avatars. People buy those non-stop on XBL and I'm sure it would be no different on PSN.

See, now this is legitimately surprising to me. Here is an easy way for them to make money, and they aren't doing it? Especially when you consider they currently offer premium themes for a small price. Why themes, but no avatars?

What is even more odd is they are charging for themes that can be found all over the Internet for free while avatars can't be. Oh well.

Their premium themes suck anyway. Usually college, anime or chick themes.

Sorry about the questions, I'm just really bummed that this happened.

1 & 2: yes u can take your hard drive out and put it in your new ps3 but you wont be able to keep any of your old stuff on the hard drive. it would have to be re-formatted. therefore, all old stuff erased.

the only way to get the files back would be if u put it back into the same ps3 u took it out of. but when u send in your ps3 to Sony, then will send u a new refurbished 60gb. not the one u sent in.

3. i dont know. you would have to ask Sony.

4. your only chance is to put a note in the box along with your ps3 and tell them u have a game stuck inside. no guarantees though.

5. i dont think anyone does in house fixing/swapping anymore. u have to ship it somewhere.

I decided not to sell my PS3 because of the fact that a) I have the 160GB drive installed and b) I am back playing old RPG's like Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdm Hearts re: Chain of Memories which I never played before.

It still runs well and that's what counts for me.

ill add you in little bit. i see u got SF 4 and THE SHOW. we must do battle soon:wink:

I Love my PS3 and that is and will always be my main system, I also have learned from the flip flopping, now owning only my PS3 for almost two years now, I wouldn't give it up my PS3 for a 360 every again, If anything I would just add one, the only thing is I really don't see any points of owning to machines, it's just more of an expense I don't care to have. It's all personal preference, and I agree. I saw no reason to owning both systems at this point. With my job, home life, and kid, time is short. Having both meant buying games for both. I chose one and I'm happy. You chose one, you're happy. It all works out!

I really did get a friends request, and it said you were playing Halo 3. Went back like 2 hours later and you hadn't been on in over a year. I have no clue how or why it happened, maybe it ghosted from the past somehow or a glitch. Just struck me as so odd. LOL

well according to microsoft, any profile that's been inactive for 6 months gets recycled. They specifically mention that to hype up their active userbase over PSN's free userbase.

So I figured maybe someone here gobbled it up to do some impersonation shenanigans. However, I find it interesting that the bkfount xbox live profile I made on the original xbox is still listed.

Yeah, I wanted to change to my last name like 2 years ago, and it was an old XBox name someone had, it's still listed as of today, and it's most definitely a dead account.
