I don't think the PS3 installs are the same as the 360. 360 would be a full game install while PS3 would be a partial install to alleviate(sp?) load times.

I recently noticed that my PS3 seems a bit sluggish. It's a fat 40. I have 4 gigs of music on it and two small demos and basically that's it. Any idea what I can do to maybe speed it up?

I'm gonna try to do the data transfer once I get the slim via the Cat 5 connection. I figure, at worse I somehow break my other fatty at best I get my saves back.
I had the same thing happen to mine. The worse part was that i had a game disc in there (Fallout New Vegas) and it wouldn't eject it. I tried a few different things but ended up having to cut the disc out of the middle of the thing. It was not pretty.

Needless to say i lost all my saves it which sucked but it was old and i already had a slim as a backup so i just moved on.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping. The data transfer is with a ordinary CAT5 cable. It looked pretty sweet.

The reason swapping hard drives didn't work is because of copyright. They don't want you swapping HDD between PS3's.

LOL. You should have took a picture.

New Vegas killed mine too near Camp Golf. I was able to eject it, though.

I wished there was some ways to save my saves (Austin Powers moment). But oh well, there are bigger things to get upset about. It gives me an excuse to play some of my favorite games over again. Dragon Age is the one I need to jump on with the sequel coming soon.

My ps3's Bluetooth is starting to act up, I basically have to play with my USB wire hooked up to my controllers because everything will feel nonresponsive/sluggish if I play wireless.

Anybody else going through the same thing?

That is what I am thinking.

Just call Sony, they will send you a new one and you send them that one.

It's happening to both of my controllers so I don't think it's that.

its your bluetooth board. i had the same thing happen to my old fat ps3. i got the local shop to fix it for 50 bucks.

ill say that might be ur best bet cuz sony might charge you more. do u still have a warranty on it?

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Unfortunatly not, I already had to pay 160 to fix the YLOD 2 years ago.

But If that's the case then I think I'll just go buy the slim.

What would you guys recommend as far as extending the warranty.... what length? I have a new 320gig unit coming this week.

Also, a wireless controller recommendation wouldn't be bad either..... what about the Mad Catz/Logitech ones (I've always been partial to their stuff..... esp. Logitech). I believe MC bought out Saitek.

If you're going to buy a third-party controller, stay away from Mad Catz. I've had nothing but trouble from them.

Personally, I'd just try to find a deal on a Sony controller.

At all cost stay away from madcraps. I have had problems with their crap since way back in my early PS2 days. Everytime I thought, ok this has got to work....wrong. No Madcatz **** on my PS3 this time around.

However, all the reviews on the keyboard for RB3 are high. I'll let you guys know. Thx for the tip on the controllers. What about the warranty?

MadCatz break easy if you throw them at a wall as hard as you can.

Seriously, though, I would just buy a Sony. Even if it costs a little extra cake. They might sell used ones somewhere near you, I'd check into that. Used accessories are normally pretty reasonable.
