Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
I recently noticed that my PS3 seems a bit sluggish. It's a fat 40. I have 4 gigs of music on it and two small demos and basically that's it. Any idea what I can do to maybe speed it up?CP: MLB The Show 11; BLOPS; UC 2.

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
Thanks bro. It's making the same sound with the HDD out. I was able to access it to pull off my RTTS save and then it shut off again. So I think the HDD is salvageable.
I'm gonna try to do the data transfer once I get the slim via the Cat 5 connection. I figure, at worse I somehow break my other fatty at best I get my saves back.
Needless to say i lost all my saves it which sucked but it was old and i already had a slim as a backup so i just moved on.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
The reason swapping hard drives didn't work is because of copyright. They don't want you swapping HDD between PS3's.
I had the same thing happen to mine. The worse part was that i had a game disc in there (Fallout New Vegas) and it wouldn't eject it. I tried a few different things but ended up having to cut the disc out of the middle of the thing. It was not pretty.
Needless to say i lost all my saves it which sucked but it was old and i already had a slim as a backup so i just moved on.
New Vegas killed mine too near Camp Golf. I was able to eject it, though.
I wished there was some ways to save my saves (Austin Powers moment). But oh well, there are bigger things to get upset about. It gives me an excuse to play some of my favorite games over again. Dragon Age is the one I need to jump on with the sequel coming soon.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
My ps3's Bluetooth is starting to act up, I basically have to play with my USB wire hooked up to my controllers because everything will feel nonresponsive/sluggish if I play wireless.
Anybody else going through the same thing?Comment

But If that's the case then I think I'll just go buy the slim.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
What would you guys recommend as far as extending the warranty.... what length? I have a new 320gig unit coming this week.
Also, a wireless controller recommendation wouldn't be bad either..... what about the Mad Catz/Logitech ones (I've always been partial to their stuff..... esp. Logitech). I believe MC bought out Saitek.Comment

If you're going to buy a third-party controller, stay away from Mad Catz. I've had nothing but trouble from them.
Personally, I'd just try to find a deal on a Sony controller.Ryan Spencer

At all cost stay away from madcraps. I have had problems with their crap since way back in my early PS2 days. Everytime I thought, ok this has got to work....wrong. No Madcatz **** on my PS3 this time around.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
MadCatz break easy if you throw them at a wall as hard as you can.
Seriously, though, I would just buy a Sony. Even if it costs a little extra cake. They might sell used ones somewhere near you, I'd check into that. Used accessories are normally pretty reasonable.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn
