Sheeeesh, criminals will use almost any tactic to suck in their next victim
We've had some instances here lately where elderly people are being targeted. I think the paper called them gypsy type people who pose as public workers (electric, phone, cable, etc..). They come up to someone's door saying that they are investigating a reported problem near the individual's home by a neighbor. In most cases, they drive a white van with a graphic on it further supporting their claim that they work for said company. When they get inside the home, someone swipes valuables while their accomplice distracts the home owner. A few of the elderly victims have been physically harmed in some way as well

Everything turned out okay of course, but I was watching them like a hawk !!!!
