There's no way I'd only own a PS3. No freaking way. If you can get a PS3 to go along with it then certainly get one. I own them all so I can give MY unbiased opinion. yes the 360 has had some failures yet in some sort of miracle I'm still on a launch system. If you've had a multiple failure rate then I can see wanting to make a change. So just do what YOU want to do.

Why cant ya'll just own both and leave it at that? Nobody forcing you to pick sides. Its kinda stupid to buy a 360 without a warranty plan from the store, and the same could be said for the ps3 depend on how you treat your system nobody knows how long it will last till you run into some type of error.

hey guys, i got a 360 in november of 06 and love it. i really do. i've got a lot of friends on LIVE and i love the look and play of the 360...however, the one thing that could get me to jump ship is...baseball. i love baseball. 2k7 was okay, and i had fun...but from the looks of things...the show is head and shoulders a better game experience. atmosphere and crowd reaction are two things that drive me nuts about 2k and that the show seems to have.

i'm not sure i could do it...switch over to the ps3...but i'm thinking harder about it now than i ever have...so i want to hear from some of you ps3 owners. what is online like with a ps3? do you have to subscribe like live? i'm pretty sure that the 360 dont have any games that dont come out for ps3 also that i would be interested in...so that helps. it also worries me that most games have looked better and "played better" according to many on the 360 rather than the ps3.

so...just want to hear from you guys.

Online is free and should be interesting with home coming in April and games all look the same with the exception of Madden and NCAA because the ran at 60fps. However this upcoming year should be different in that regard. Forgot to mention Blu-Ray which has won the HD format war, if you are big into movies.
IMO PS3 is gaining ground and will only get better

Go for it! I've been asking myself the same questions to myself and the guys here at OS. I actually packed up my Elite 360 (recently purchased with my BB store credit for RROD) earlier this morning and will be picking up a PS3 on my way home today. There is no subscription for the PSN cost like Live. I'm not sure if the network as strong as Live, but someone else may be able to answer that with experience.

My only major concern is that the football games played at 60 FPS on the 360 last year (NCAA, APF and Madden), but only played at 30 FPS on the PS3. I would imagine that would be remedied for this year's titles (I hope). By the way, The Show sounds like it just rocks! And I'm not even much of a baseball fan.

The only problem you will find is communicating with your friends on the PS3 is nowhere close to convenient as it is on the 360. It's not even comparable... it's just flat out terrible.

You can do it... but again, it is HIGHLY inconvenient.

i know that it's impossible to know exactly, but maybe some of you on here can give some answers on what you got if you traded your 360 in?

i actually have a 360 i just got a few months ago with a year warranty from gamestop. its a premium (20g hd, wireless, etc). i could just return that without having to trade it in i guess and get my full $350 back (which it looks like what they're selling their ps3 40gb refurbished for).

the games i have are: mlb 2k7, ch 2k7, madden 08, gun, COD4, splinter cell DA, Dance Dance Revolution with game pad, COD2...i think that might be it.

any ideas?

Its coming soon. Sony posted a advertisement this week about it on their website but took it down right away. Guess it wasn't meant to me shown till after GDC.

i'm full of questions...sorry guys. for my monitor, i use a 22inch hp2207 computer monitor. i use a hdmi to dvi cable to plug into the monitor...and i use the elite rca dongle to get sound (since you cant get sound out of a dvi cable). so, will that work for me with a ps3? is there a way, other than the hdmi, to get sound out of the ps3? can an hdmi cable and the component cables be plugged in at the same time? thanks guys, you're a huge help.

I used to have my PS3 hooked up with a HDMI-to-DVI cable before I got a new TV with an HDMI input. You can use either the red/white RCA cables for sound or a optical cable for sound if you don't use the HDMI. I don't have a HDMI input on my receiver at home, so I have video through the HDMI straight to my TV from my PS3 and audio through the optical cable to my receiver from my PS3 (I could of used the red/white but you only get the 2-channel sound). And I'm pretty sure you can have HDMI and component hooked up at the same time, it's just a setting within the PS3's Display Settings menu that you specify which input to use.

Yup. I was doing this last night and was using my optical sound for both settings as well. You just have to constantly reselect all of your TV options (720p, 1080i, etc) every time you switch them though.

It's just standard or widescreen I'm pretty sure, I haven't seen 16:10 anywhere. You select your monitors video capabilities (480p-1080p) and you audio capabilities (Dobly Digital, DTS, etc).
