Agreed, the slim is pretty ugly IMO.

But I do appreciate its inner beauty in that it doesn't overheat and give me the YLOD.

It just wasn't a funny joke. Sony should just not do any minor hardware revisions because the changes aren't appreciable by you? It's not like Sony spent 15 minutes expunging about it at E3, all they did was update the Japanese website with the soon to be current model.

for your sake, i hope the next batch of PS3's that come out include a nice bundle of a sense of humor, lol.

By the way, what kind of hard drive do I need to replace my current hard drive? 5400 RPM? 7200 RPM? 2.5"? 3.5"?

mike, A 54oo rpm drive will do and it should be a 2.5 size version.

I would go with a 7200 rpm drive, no more cost but noticeably faster.

Have you ever vacuumed the vents? Might be dust restricting airflow.
