Just get it now so you can enjoy it with the Show. It really does make a difference, pitching/batting, zone, tense situations, etc.

I love the vibration for pitching...I don't bat a whole lot (doing a pitcher RTTS right now), but the DS3 is great. Would I replace all my controllers if I owned a bunch all ready? Probably not, but I'd get at least one (I needed a 2nd controller anyways).

This shouldn't come as much of a ... shock, but Sony is discontinuing the Sixaxis in light of the DualShock 3's arrival, according to MTV. A Sony rep says that you can likely expect them to all be gone by summertime.

The practical upshot is that if your hands have become so atrophied from a lack of physical activity that you can no longer support the DualShock's heft, you may want to stock up on featherweight Sixaxises (Sixaxi?). Good night, sweet, almost comically light prince. And flights of angels (controllable with aftertouch) sing thee to thy rest.ontroller.

Black one only for now. Until we see the colored console I highly doubt we will see the colored controllers.

I have mine checked to all four. Doesn't really matter since most games on the PS3 will run at 720p by default while 1080p will be used for the XMB and movies.

The only way to get games run at 1080p on the PS3 is unchecking 1080i and 720p. However, most games won't run so well at 1080p so I just leave it as default.

All additional purchases for the 360 for most people here.

Fortunately the PS3 has you covered with everything mentioned above.

While that is true, not having replaceable batteries is stupid. So when my controller finally dies or quits charging to the fullest, I have to buy another $50 controller instead of an $11 battery for XB360. That and no Hi-def cables period, was a poor choice imo. Other than that, no complaints on PS3 accessories.

Didn't want to make a new thread so I'll just post it here.

I'm very close to purchasing a PS3, should be pulling the trigger sometimes in the next two weeks. Now when I buy this thing should I buy some sort of cooler or fan attachment as well? I know when my friend bought his PS3 (at launch) it got hot as holy hell and the first thing he went and did was bought this cooler that attached on to the back (i think it was the back, not sure).

Anyway, is overheating a problem, or should I be good without any type of fan/cooler?

No cooler needed.....you can leave the ps3 on all day and that badboy will start up the next day with no problems.
