I know the discussion had shifted toward HDMI cables, but the PS3 does come with some standard high def cables, right? I remember with the 360, you didn't get it with the standard system, but you did get high def cables with the Pro system.

I'm pretty sure that the PS3 only comes with composite cables.

How'd you get the PS3 hooked up with the PC? I've been trying for ages. I'd like to get my music on there.

when i hooked it up to my router it came up with my pc stuff, i'm running vista so maybe if you're running xp that is the difference? are you running xp?

I'm pretty sure that the PS3 only comes with composite cables.

Even the 80GB PS3? I was thinking/hoping the bigger system would come with more goodies -- such as the cables -- like with the 360.

That would be nice, but I'm 99% sure that even the 80GB package comes with only composite cables.

Just google PS3 & Tversity, I watched a video on youtube on how to do it.

I use windows media player and it finds my shared folders....I forget exactly how I set it up, but I'm sure it's documented elsewhere online. Works great, I stream movies and music perfectly.

I'm 100% sure as I just bought the 80gig Metal Gear bundle and it only comes with composite. Hit up www.monoprice.com to buy cheap but good HDMI cable.

Well, how many component cables do you get? Do you get just standard three or five for HD?

I think I read the 360 Elite came with HDMI, but my 360 Pro system came with HD component cables. The 360 Core (aka poor) came with just three standard components. I remember when I traded in my broke Pro system, I accidentally gave Gamestop my HD component cables and the Core system I received came with only three standard component cables. I went out and bought new component cables for high def.

HDMI isn't a big deal to me because I use my HDMI connection for my DirecTV. As long as the component cables are high def, I'm cool.

The cables that come with it are composite cables not component cables, they are simply the red-white-yellow. For some reason Sony didnt include it, Ive purchased both the 60GB and the 40GB and neither one had a component cable, well I shouldnt say for some reason as its obvious so they call sell you their brand. If you only have one HDMI cable then at some point I would recommend getting an HDMI switcher, I have one because I have the same problem as you and its awesome, I currently have my HD-DVD player, Directv and PS3 running through it and still have 1-2 ports open for future purchases. The downside is it ran me 99.99 at Frys, but it did come with 5 HDMI cables so it wasnt too bad.

I use Tversity for my media sharing on the ps3. Works great.

I use the Windows Media Center that comes with Vista and it works great. For my 360 I had difficulty with it not working when I ran XP so I used Tversity for that and it did work great.
