No... if you have any experience with Sony camcorders or cameras you would know what I'm referring to... it's difficult to explain and trust me, definitely not worth it just to see the videos!

Moses, I know what you mean man, but why not call their CS and try to get them to fix it for free? It's either $150 vs. $399 or more for a new one.......is it worth trying to open up the system since you probably can't fix what is wrong with it inside. Just trying to help out.

Luckily I called the local store where my system was purchased and the guy said he would print out a receipt for me. The only problem is that the store is located in CA, and I'm in MA.

You bought it on a trip. Means nothing.

The only problem is it's obviously not a US system. It's a colored system which means they can decide to not service it.

And they obviously can not replace the system with an equal one since you are in the US... and they don't have the silver console here...

Well, in my past experiences dealing with Sony warranties (PS3 and my TV), I can pretty much assure you that they don't keep good notes on when you call in. So, no worries! LOL
