            Well, once again I got rejected due to the console being a Japanese model. The guy I spoke with directed me to a Japanese Sony site where I can contact them and they should be able to help me, so I did that. Once I get a response, I'll let you know what goes down.

                since the system is turning off, could it be the power cord, maybe you should try and buy another one and see if that maybe the case.

                        Hey i know the ps3 eyetoy works for video and sound but does anybody know if a regular pc webcam can work for sound as well in video games?

                                                Wow, so Sony here wont do it because its an import and Sony in Japan wont do it because you live here? Sony really is making things more difficult then it really should be, I get that its a imported system but come on already, it isnt that big of a deal imo. I dont know at this point, it sounds like your screwed. Have you tried getting in touch with the place that the guy bought it at? Sometimes a company can get more done on their end then an individual consumer can, maybe try that I suppose. I would think your only option is to call the store that he bought it at, so definently give that a shot, really explain your problem to them and try and be diplomatic about it, maybe they can do something for you on their end either with Sony or something else.

                                                    The guy I bought it from bought it at a playntrade, and considering I have the receipt, maybe I can go to my local PTN and get it returned or exchanged? I'll be damn sure I don't get a Japanese model though.

                                                        Actually, on the receipt it says:

                                                        "All NEW systems are covered by a manufacturer's warranty and must be returned to the manufacturer." (The system was bought new)

                                                        Then it also says:

                                                        "In the case the title is no longer in the defective item will be exchanged store credit." So, since the 40gb will be discontinued next month, if I go next month would I be better off?

                                                            Call them and tell them your Aunt in, whatever state the guy bought it in, bought this for you as a gift for your birthday and its not working anymore. Explain that you just want to exchange it and Sony is giving you a hard time, maybe they will work with you. Dont go into the store though, do it all by phone that way if they say no then wait until next month and go into the store, then there is no way they remember your face and decline you since you did it initially over the phone anyways.

                                                            EDIT- You talking about the one on Providence Hwy there in Walpole?
