Firmware 2.43 is up; however, unless you have a Japanese PS3, it is not required for not download nor will it add anything.

Some people are reporting that with the latest firmware update, Folding@Home is being replaced with the Life with Playstation icon.

Looks like we should have it soon.

The same thing that was on the Wii, news and weather from around the world. You have a globe, move around to get news/updates.

Only problem with it is, like everything other Sony application, it has been delayed since August. Hopefully it finally hits soon along with Home.

At home right now for lunch so I'm downloading it. Pretty big download compared to what Folding@Home was. 126MB for Life with PlayStation.

Some quick impressions:

As of now the application is pretty neat but kind of bare. I'm sure as time goes they will expand on it with video news feeds and all that.

But for now you can Fold@Home while checking out the news and looking around the globe. The cool thing about the globe is that major cities across the world have weather icons by their names. Pretty neat since you can see how the weather is in the rest of the world. Also, where it's dark in real life, that part of the globe is dark.

Maybe there are more features but for now I don't have time to play around as I have to go back to work.

But either way, pretty neat.
