I wish they'd add more notification options. I want the message notification but I don't want to see every time someone signs in and out. Some visual cue as well in the XMB when you have a message but miss the notification for it.

I don't think the pop-up message is enough. I tend to ignore those because they pop up anytime someone from your friends list gets online. It's too easy for the message pop-up to get lost in all of the "______ is online" popups. Playing a sound would be a good way to let you know that you have a message.

Also, I wish it would go right to the message when I press the PS button when I get the message popup. Right now you have to navigate to your message inbox from the XMB, which is unnecessary.

Yeah I wish they would add a link to your Message Box when you press and hold the PS button (the menu to quit game, controller settings, etc).

I don't know... I guess it doesn't bother me that much. It takes less than a second to read the message, and at most, 3 seconds to pause a game, get to the inbox, and open the message. To me, it's just not that big of a deal.

I solved my own problem about PS2 games being jaggied on the PS3, I just bought another PS2 on the way home from work. I can't believe these little bastards are still $130.

I am hearing conflicting stories about the PS3 being region free. I want to import a PAL PS3 game and i was wondering if anyone knows for sure if I will be able to play it on my NTSC PS3.

I have a HDTV with HDMI.

You should be ok as long as you are playing in High-Def. The old Pal-ntsc thing is mute because the high def ratios are better than either. Most of the games are region free. Buzz is a game that is not because the questions are region specific.

I always thought a little envelope underneath the Controller battery and time would work wonders. Just have the envelope with a "0" next to it and if you get mail you see the number there.

That would be nice...+1

I also second (for both PS3 and 360) the ability to have message notifications pop up still but be able to turn off login notifications. On 360 as well it's "all or nothing" and it gets annoying having all the "so and so logged in" messages, especially if someone's constantly logging in and out for whatever reason.

Oh, I agree...just like to mess with people.

I also hope/wonder if Home will fix a lot of the problems people have with the new in-game XMB, and that Sony's just screwed in not being able to "roll out" any type of updates until that goes.

I hate the log in messages on XBL, totally agree with Mgo, especially with patches. People log on, "blah blah is online" people get a patch, logs off, then you see "blah blah is online" again. YAY!

I like to know when someone logs on because sometimes I'm waiting for someone online and it's good to know that they are on their way. But I don't see the need for having a message when someone logs off, so I wish you could option that away.

The biggest problem I have with the notifications is when I am playing Rock Band. The notifications distract me for a half second and I lose my rhythm sometimes LOL
