I bought the Logitech Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3 and got it in the mail today. It works really well. Now I can turn my PS3 on and off with my Harmony remote. I had been using the Nyko IR dongle in one of my USB ports on the PS3 to get the Harmony remote to work, and that worked real well, but it wouldn't turn the system on/off plus it took up a USB and would make my controller set to controller 2 a lot. Not anymore! The device is a little too expensive, but I splurged.

ok question, i have a 60gb ps3 with backwards compatabilty. if i bought GUITAR HERO 2 for ps2 could i use my ps3 guitar to play it? or do i have to have a ps2 guitar to play it?

I believe the answer is "no," and what you need is an adapter with a PS2 guitar. I don't want to say that's official though.

According to this thread, you can't play it at all. It definitely doesn't work with a ps3 controller, and it sounds like a lot of people have problems when using a ps2 axe w/ the adapter.

I think some people had success playing GH and GH 80's with the adapter, but GH 2 just doesn't work right. This is way I still have my PS2 hooked up.

I just got that YLOD thing on my ps3 and since I currently don't have $150 is their anyway to get it fixed without mailing it to sony? Otherwise I will have to wait awhile till I have an extra $150.

take it apart clean it, clean the lens.

MAN, I'm so borded right now, A. I;m still stick and can;t enjoy the nice wheatre. B. My 3 month old son is sick too... SO I'm stuk in the house and decided like a jackarse to take my PS3 about and clean the blu-ray and the system, now note there is nothing wrong with my PS3, just thought it need a good cleaning.


And for you kids at home, I'm a Tech for a living to this stuff comes to me like slicing bread.

DAMN!!!!!!!!!! There goes my PS3, this is not the first time I took my PS3 apart, but this was the first time messing with the Blu-Ray drive, now my PS3 will not load my disk, the slot loading drive is gone, SHart, I may have to go to best buy and pick up a new one, damn!!!

one quick question guys, if I buy the 160gb ps3 can I load my HDD with all my downloaded games? Like will they all work, yes guys it sucks, but I can't be without a system, I need to know this question before I head out.


Like I said I took my system apart many times with no issue until now.

You mean put your current HDD in?

It depends really on the PS3. First thing I would do is connect the PS3 online and download the latest firmware so they match. After that, I would do the swap because if the firmware aren't matching, it will tell you to reformat the old HDD.
