I picked up the 60GB system last night. I'll take (after daughter opens it up) the included games and sell/trade them in to offset a small portion of the price.Joshua:

It sucks, but oh well...I play my 360 enough it's worth it for me. Think of how much money we spend on games and everything else, it's just the cost of doing business. Sony got us on the dual shock 3 (having to buy that after release), Wii is giving you better remote sensing in the future, etc. Just how it works.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

The more I use this, the more I truly dont like it. When you quit a game back to the dashboard, why does it always default to the Xbox Spotlight section? Whats with the ads? Bombard the silver members with ads, I dont pay for ******* advertisements.Comment

Re: Xbox Experience coming 11/19 - requires 128mb of space
The Xbox 360 system reserves approximately 6 GB of space for the following:
* Approximately 4 GB is reserved for game title caching and for other hard drive-specific game elements for games that support the use of the Xbox Hard Drive.
* Approximately 2 GB is reserved for use by the Xbox 360 backwards-compatibility software that allows you to play older Xbox titles on the Xbox 360 console.
After you subtract the reserved space from the listed total, the following approximate amount of free space remains on the hard drive, depending on the model:
* 14 GB of free space for the 20GB model
* 54 GB of free space for the 60GB model
* 114 GB of free space for the 120 GB model
This is the amount of free space that you can use to save game files, downloadable content and music, and other media files.Comment

Re: Xbox Experience coming 11/19 - requires 128mb of space
If you don't have demos, and you don't have videos, what is taking up so much room on your HDD? I don't get it.
I have a ton of stuff on my 120 gig, and before installing games, I wasn't even at 8 gigs used, that's with all the games I played as well as 5 or 6 gigs of Rock Band stuff.
you keep harping on the actual size of the hard drive like MS has any control over it. It's how HDD manufacturers market the HDD size that's different from the way a computer sees it.The 80 gig ps3 HDD is only like 74 GB's, and the HDD in the PC you're using right now follows the same thing. The actual available space on the 360 HDD is then dipped into for the OS, xbox emulation software, and other tasks.
I agree that the 20 gig is too small for 2008, as Live kicks *** with all kinds of HD movies, games, and DLC. They fixed that by adding a 60, or 54 gig HDD into the new premium 360's. There's options for the early adaptors who are left out with the "paltry" 13 gig.
Although I'm not sure where they get 14GB? I cleared every last nonsensical thing I could off of my HDD way back when and the best i could get was 13GB.Comment

Re: Xbox Experience coming 11/19 - requires 128mb of space
After installing the new "Experience", my 360 won't read my discs anymore. I have tried a bunch of them, and but the console acts as if there is no disc.
Any ideas? Can I somehow reinstall this mess?
Meh, at least I have a wii like character waving at me.Comment

On another note, I'm finding the netflix instant watch option to be totally useless when looking for movies. They have nothing compared to the amount of movies when ordering the DVD. Only thing I am getting out of it is the 80's TV shows I watched as a kid, like Airwolf, Rockford files, Magnum PI, Knight Rider and so on.
There just isn't enough of a selection on instant watch for movies, I can only watch Bladerunner and Logan's Run soo many times.Comment

-Love the Netflix
-Love both new interfaces(standard, and the new "Xbox button" menu_
-Love installing games for smoother play.
-Like the partying up for easier chat
-Like the sharing of photos, etc
-Hate having to buy a 60gig or 120 gig HD
-Hate, Hate, Hate, the Wii style Avatars. I was so mad they forced me to go through that. Thanks to Pared for listening to me bitch about it.Comment

You don't have to buy a new HD. I'm not.
It's just a new feature that lets you take advantage of having one. It's not like your games don't run exactly like they did before the update; and we all seemed to survive then.
Sure, it loads faster - but it's not that big a deal. I'm just installing the game that I'm playing the most at the time, and then I'll delete it and install the next one when I'm done with that one.Comment
