Oh haha, to be honest, I didn't read the posts above. It all makes sense now. I just jumped to the last page and just read up. Also, I happened to be reading the nfs thread just before I came in here.

The actual chases as cops are pretty fun and using spike strips and road blocks is pretty sweet, but I definitely like being an outlaw better and just racing. You get a lot of bronze trophies early on as well but it takes a while to boost your wanted level or cop rank to get the silver and golds. Haven't played any online yet just single player. I think it's pretty cool how they show the best times people on your friends list have for each event so you have a little extra incentive to go back and keep trying other races. I'll be playing this a lot I think so feel free to add me if anyone gets it and wants to try online later.
yeah man the game is fun. I got it in from gamefly yesterday, I'll probably hold onto it for a while and then get the game for Christmas. For a trophy hunter, this game is fun because trophies just pop all over the place I got one right when the game started up because I have 5 PSN friends with the game already. Easiest trophy ever lol.

Kevin, would you say that NFSHP is very fun like Burnout? I want GT5, NFS could end up being more fun in the long run.

It's not as fun as Burnout in my opinion just because there isn't anything really do to in the Free Drive mode other than drive around. Burnout had those random car chases in free drive to unlock cars, plus all the billboards and smash gates to seek out which was a lot of fun, from what I can tell in this game you just drive. But the events are a lot of fun. Jumping between cop and racer is very good, I'm glad you didn't have to start a career as just one. I get bored with racing games when you just jump from event to event, so by being able to jump between cop and racer, it offers more. But really I only played for an hour last night, I'll have a better opinion after the weekend.

Yeah, I made the mistake of going into the game thinking it'll be more like Burnout Paradise, but I think it's more comparable to the old school Burnout games when there were separate missions with individual medal requirements (like beat x:xx time for gold). In this case, there's way less to do compared to Paradise, but they encourage the "high score contest" gameplay with leaderboards on every menu page it seems! So tons of mission replays.

There's only two gold trophies: one to get all single player gold medals as a racer, and one to earn all single player distinctions as a cop. Not enough golds!!

Ryan I don't know if you have an iPhone but there is an app called itrophies that shows your trophies and you can rank everyone in your friends list. It's pretty cool and might help you out some.

Just picked up a PS3 for Black Friday so I I'd like to become one of the Trophy Collectors. PSN ID is CurseOfSpin.

It seems that I've become humbled by the Gold trophy requirements for NFS: HS. I'm getting owned by some of the late cop rapid response and preview missions. For those who don't have the game, it's essentially a point to point time trial with a time requirement for gold, silver or bronze medals. Touching a bystander car in traffic is a 3 second penalty and the walls a 2 second penalty. Put those rules in a stage that features HEAVY traffic and a 200+ mph car and you can only wonder how someone can get through this unscratched.

Maybe I should put it down and start playing GT5.

Been very very inactive in my trophy hunting. Picked up a second dualshock controler today so I can finally get that stupid fight for fumble trophy in madden and finally get that plat for Madden 11.

I'm hoping to get Plat number 3 for the month with KZ2. 4 days left. I should have it buy the the end of the weekend. Just need 4 more levels on Elite and two other mop up trophies on easy.

yeah those rapid response and preview attempts are tough. If I get a platinum for this game it will take a while because I won't keep plugging away over and over until I get the gold on each of those. I'll try to get all the other trophies though.
