Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
Sweet deal with the library. But yeah, as Tigerman said, getting and setting up a router should be a piece of cake. And that's all you will need to get the PS3 online, because the PS3 has built-in wireless so once you have the router set up and the PS3 finds it, you are pretty much golden. I'd be happy to help you out further if you need it, and I'm sure others on here would as well.Originally posted by davivGreen Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Yes, I would be glad to help. Especially with more advanced things such as adding your PS3 to the DMZ, Port Forwarding, or Chanel Changes.

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
Doh, I tried HAWX and Motorstorm Pacific Rift this week and didn't like either game. Now they are both staring at me with 1% trophy completion. I hate not finishing (or coming close to finishing) games, but I'm not going to play a game I don't enjoy just to rack up more trophies.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Bronze for 100 wins. Unfortunate indeed.

Man, the web interface for trophies is so much better on the European PlayStation site. I wish we'd get some of that goodness on the US site.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

I love Pacific Rift... graphics are great, and it's just a ton of fun driving through all those different off road course. I'm surprised you don't like it!Doh, I tried HAWX and Motorstorm Pacific Rift this week and didn't like either game. Now they are both staring at me with 1% trophy completion. Never tried Hawx though, that just doesn't interest me at all.Comment

It's been over a year now since Sony setup the US interface and still nada here in the U.S. What are they waiting for is my thing.Comment

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
The Ace Combat series has always been known for its presentation. That includes the storyline, the music, the radio chatter and the cut scenes. Take away ALL of that and you get HAWX. Pretty much everything about it was forgettable. Sure, it LOOKED good, and there was probably one or two WOW moments in the game, but I don't think it's worth paying 60 bucks for. So regarding the trophies for HAWX, you'll just bore yourself to death getting them.Comment

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
Yeah, some of those trophies definitely look tricky. But if they made some of them silver, they would have to eliminate some of the trophies, so I don't mind it this way too much.
Looking forward to the update!
Maybe I'll give Pacific Rift another try down the road. With both games, I really didn't give myself much of a chance to adjust to the learning curve. I haven't played either genre much lately... in the case of HAWX, I haven't spent any significant time in the genre ever (unless you count Star Wars X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter on PC back in the 90's). I ended up with Killzone 2 after taking Pacific Rift to Blockbuster, as I only have this unlimited rentals plan for a week and I wanted to get something I'd enjoy. To my surprise, Killzone 2 came back in stock between when I traded in HAWX for Pacific Rift in the afternoon, and when I brought back Pacific Rift in the evening.
I think that after I get through my backlog of games I own and want to platinum or at least play through completely (Prince of Persia, Quantum of Solace), I will sign up for Blockbuster's monthly version of the pass (SqueakyD mentioned it earlier in the thread). That way, I can try all the games from the long list I have without having to buy them all, and maybe I'll give Pacific Rift or even HAWX a second chance.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

I like Pacific Rift too, very cool and looks great. Trophies are kinda hard though, that's just a game I play from time to time just to drive.

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
With July now in the books, it's time for another standings update!
OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Standings: August 2009

RETURN TO GLORY: HEISMAN316 JUMPS UP FIVE SPOTS TO 16TH
After switching over to a different PSN account last update, Heisman316 has nearly made up all of the ground he had lost, moving from 21st up to 16th place.
No movement in the top three, which is a rarity. Pfunk880 did move into fourth place, moving fishepa back to fifth.
Acedeck (PSN: DChrist124) debuts in 19th. Welcome!
HASTA LA VISTA, PLATINUM: HEISMAN316 EARNS TOP HONOR IN TERMINATOR SALVATION

Heisman316 does his best Sam Bradford impression and takes home the top honor in Terminator Salvation. Congrats!
HIS 15 MINUTES START TICKING: FISHEPA BEATS INFAMOUS

Fishepa bags his third platinum trophy with an electrifying performance in inFamous. Woot!
PREQUEL TO THE SEQUEL: PFUNK880 BEATS UNCHARTED: DRAKE'S FORTUNE

With Uncharted 2 on the horizon, pfunk880 has closed the book on the original, earning the platinum in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Elena is proud!
TWO-FER: HEISMAN316, THE CHEF TAKE LEGENDS OF WRESTLEMANIA

Two more participants have bagged the platinum trophy in WWE: Legends of Wrestlemania—Heisman316 and The Chef. Good work!
CAPTAIN PUNCH: SQUEAKYD LEADS THE WAY IN FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 4

Our overall #1 SqueakyD ended July as the top trophy-getter in the Game of the Month, Fight Night Round 4.
60% - SqueakyD
26% - Hooper15
19% - Acedeck
14% - DEFTFUNDAMENTALZ
09% - bcruise
01% - GearsX8
01% - dickdalewood
01% - FootballForever
July's PSN Game of the Month, Punisher: No Mercy was a flop among our participants... only FootballForever had the game at all, and even he didn't have any trophies for it! Whoops!
The Game of the Month for August is an easy choice: NCAA Football 10! Strap on your helmets and score some trophies!
Choosing August's PSN Game of the Month was also a piece of cake: Fat Princess! Feed the princess and feed your trophy totals!
That's all for the August update. We'll see you back here on September 1 for the next edition!Last edited by rspencer86; 08-01-2009, 03:40 PM.Ryan Spencer
