      Thats what the difference would look like on a 65 inch TV from 2 feet away.

      On any TV thats less than 50 inches, and you're going to sit more than 5 feet away from, there is little to no difference between 720p and 1080p.

        Thx for the explanation all - I just brought a PS3 and kept wondering why most of the games cause my screen to downscale to 720p whereas I never see that issue w/my 360. thx

          Not to mention it's a lot harder to see a difference in motion compared to a still shot.

          The difference between 720p and standard def is much greater than the difference between 720p and 1080p.
