by 2015?
The 360 came out in 2005. He's predicting that the ps3 overtakes the 360 only after a decade. How is that bad for MS? We may even have flying cars and national health care by then, or maybe just next gen consoles.
People seriously need to stop putting so much stock in the Japanese gaming market. It has far less impact than the US and Europe. The xbox was last in japan last gen, yet it was still #2 worldwide. The N64 was last in japan the generation before that, and it too was #2 in worldwide sales.Last edited by bkfount; 07-01-2009, 08:09 PM. -

just in time for a new console
if not before then.
despite it's problems I've loved the 360 as a console and what it brings over the previous gen. right now I'm wirelessly streaming a movie from my computer on the 360 so I can lurk online and give my gf something to do. It's great, and a lot of good games have come out too.
I agree with the guy above me too, japan is not even close to the be-all and end-all. NA is a powerhouse.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

So, they will be neck-and-neck at 26% market share by the end of 2011, and the 360 will be in third by 2015? He sure is giving himself a lot room with that prediction.

Investors, What Are You Paying For?
I am becoming more and more convinced that just as the masses read funny pages for amusement during their morning coffee, investors read analyst reports for chuckles. Why else are they paying for this? I am, of course, referring to Pachter’s latest analyst report.
The sources I am pulling quotes from are IndustryGamers and Wired.
It would be a waste of time to refute Pachter’s report. For each page Pachter writes, it would take three in reply. Replies end up being longer because a refutation demands a tear-down of the original argument and then explanation of what is actually happening. A refutation would be long-winded and boring. I have another idea.
Let us have Pachter, himself, refute Pachter. Yes, folks, this report is boiling with contradictions.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

What has Pachter ever been right about?Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

This is a pretty strange predictions, basing most of his opinion that the Blu-Ray will become the dominant Media Storage device. Personally I think it is a safe bet that by 2015 Most Movies will viewed via Direct Download rather than buying a Hard-Disk. Hell I got my parents renting movies over a Xbox 360, which is pretty amazing considering they are both technologiclly inept. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

You may be right, but I hope not. I don't want my movies on a vulnerable hard drive that could crash or corrupt, causing me to lose all my movies. I love my DVDs and even some VHSs! I use Time Warner's On-Demand service a pretty good amount and I like it alright (Although, it still screws up sometimes), but I like to have my movies on a hard disk or tape. This is a pretty strange predictions, basing most of his opinion that the Blu-Ray will become the dominant Media Storage device. I highly doubt we're going to move to predominantly downloading that soon. The bandwidth and storage is getting there, but there are still a lot of people who want to have the physical disk.
You're not the only one to make this type of prediction, but I really think it's a bit of a reach.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers
