I saw something like that on youtube. But the ps3 that has the YLOD has to be able to turn on.......

My ps3 lasted 2 weeks after i fix it from a video i saw on youtube with the heat gun. oh well i was hoping to have 2 ps3's but i guess i will just stick with the slim that works

Been Sifting through the last 20 or so pages. I have a situation:
I have a 40 GB (Fat) PS3, That has the faulty blu-ray lense. I think, My system no longer loads or reads any disc in general. It has been down since April 18th ): I have been dying for PS3 as I have went through 4 XBOX 360 (3 due to RROD)
My plans:
I planned on taking the HDD out of my 40GB, and Inserting it into my friends PS3 60 GB (Fat) with a 60 GB HDD in it currently. I only want to do this till I work up money to buy a bigger HDD (150+ GB)
First is this possible to switch hard drives and systems successfully? Ex: PS3 60GB W/ 40 GB HDD //// PS3 40GB W/60 GB HDD

The Bold above is what I need to know if it works. Thanks
---- Neither of Us care if we lose information. As long as it works properly we have most all saves backed up already.
-Also that all the capibilities are still available.

Like I seen BLZR had trouble signing in online etc.. ( I was sifting through the pages, not fully reading)

I TOTALLY AGREE!!! 1 gazillion da frillion times.....!

After "fixing" mine twice (1st time it lasted a week the next time about 2 weeks) it is dead again. F it.

I'm getting a new slim and will still probably get the 60gb system fixed. I'll just sell it then. Or throw it on EBAY now and sell it As - Is with no HDD.

some gamestops in my area are getting slims in, but none with those matching 2101A?

I just got a Slim last week and it wasn't the 2101A model. I'm not too concerned, though. Yes it gets warm in the back of the console but it runs very quiet.

Nice work. I'm taking it you traded in your other system to get this at this low of a price?

I'm thinking in a few months when more PS3's are (hopefully) on the shelves, I may take mine back to BB and get the new model, since I did buy the 2-year warranty.

Sounds like he got $180 for it since he only paid $120 for the Slim.
