Re: 360 Wireless Adapter
Something like this would be a quick way around it

There are a few others ways but you need some technical knowledge in setting them up:
1. Purchase a router, install firmware which will allow you to make it a bridge, and then plug the 360 to the router which will be your adapter.
2. Find one of the few usb wireless adapters that works with the 360. Don't know any off hand.
3. Buy one of those wireless transmission-over-electrical-outlets devices. You plug the 360 into the device, plug one of the devices into the wall, then plug the other one into the wall near your router and connect it then.
There might be other options, but no one 'best' option.Comment

Re: 360 Wireless Adapter
I bought this little guy back in 06 and it still runs strong. Anything like it will work and save you a butt load of money over the MS one. Just make sure you have a good router and you'll be fine.

Re: 360 Wireless Adapter
Amazon and ebay have the original xbox wireless network adapter for around $50. It works just fine.
The cheapest by far is to get a cheap router and install a custom firmware to it. That could cost as little as $20.Last edited by bkfount; 07-14-2009, 12:35 PM.Comment

Re: 360 Wireless Adapter
co-sign. i used to use this before i switched to the PS3. from what i remember, it wasn't much more than plugging the ethernet cable into the laptop and 360. (assuming the laptop has a wireless connection)
You're basically using the laptop as a wireless bridge.Comment

There may be some technical parts to it as well. From what I remember, it didn't take too long to set up.Comment

Re: 360 Wireless Adapter
from what I remember you just have to go to your network connections, right click your wireless connection and there should be a sharing tab, you just enable sharing and select to share it with the ethernet port and you should be good to go. you may have to change some of the tcp/ip information on the ethernet portion, but I recall.Comment

Re: 360 Wireless Adapter
For what it's worth, the 360 wireless adapter is well worth the money. I bought one when the 360 first came out, and I have had zero problems or complaints. The 100 bucks is a little steep but I have gotten my moneys worth out of it.PSN ID: Lordcledus

Hey WTF I'm not sure if you're running on Windows or Mac laptop....but here's a video on how to do it in Vista. I watched a similar video when I was doing it for my Mac and it makes it pretty easy when you can see them doing it.
