Have been a console my gamer my entires for until I built a gaming PC last summer and haven't looked back. Only game that could make me go back to consoles would be a new College Hoops 2k game.Comment

I only usually buy 3-4 games a year. I think I'm going to triple that this year. The worst part is I feel like most of them have been disappointing so far.Student of the game. #Fundamentals

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
I have the hardest time trying to play some new games. A lot of time I'll be surfing the internet listening to music and I'll want to play a game. Problem is most SP games require you to listen to them and not music so instead of shutting my music off because I don't like to stop in the middle of albums I'll go play something casual like Binding of Isaac or NHL.
One of these days I am going to run through the hundred plus games I have on Steam. Not sure how or what order but it needs to happen. lol.Comment

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
Steam sales ruined me and I have around 140 games on there now not to mention 40 or so on consoles. I think I've played a handful on the console and one steam game in total. I think I'm just a hoarder. Have it there in case I want to play it but I never do.
Even when I have time, the biggest issue for me sometimes is deciding what to play. By the time I do, if I do, time is gone and I end up doing something else.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
My guilt now lies with systems. I love the PS4, but beyond 2K and BF4 I don't really play any other games. So I have went back to PS3 for some games.
Really wish the PS4 was backwards compatible as it would be easy to just have the one system.Texas A&M Aggies

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
So I'm back now and have a ton of games and back to feeling the guilt that I'm neglecting some of them way too much...I have a limited time when I can game so I try to maximize it and mix it up...
Last weekend I spent my entire night on Friday while my wife was at work playing Fallout 4 and NBA2K16. I felt sorta guilty about not playing more games in that 10 or 11 hours...especially considering I have some games I've barely played or not even played at all!! I felt really bad I "wasted" the entire night on just two games with so much to play!!!
This past weekend however I did much better. Friday night I kicked off with a couple of hours of Rise of the Tomb Raider on X1, then a game of online Madden 16 on PS4, then Until Dawn for a couple hours, then Need for Speed and finally some Fallout 4 before I decided to watch the new Roger Waters The Wall on PS4.
Then Saturday while Stef got her hair done I played Call of Duty 3 Black Ops for two hours, Forza 6 for two hours and lastly again some Fallout 4 for an hour or so.
So I still have yet to play Batman or The Witcher 3 on PS4 at all...maybe next weekend LOL
How about you guys, do you focus on one game until you beat it or try to spread your time out on a bunch of your most recent games?
How do you decide what to play? Do you feel guilt when you leave games unplayed or barely touched??Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Sports games still take up most of my time, but when I find a non-sports game that grabs me, I usually see that through to completion of the main story. A lot of games I'll play a little here and there, and I'm perfectly fine with that.
Just enjoy what you're playing is my best advice. If there's a game you're playing that you're not feeling, don't force yourself to finish it. Move on to something else.Currently Playing:

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
Yeah I hear you, but for me most games I do enjoy once I get going in them but then I end up just ignoring my other games. Maybe I simply don't have enough time like I'd like and the issue is managing my time so I don't feel "guilty" for not playing enough.
A part of it is my wife guilts me too by like saying "why did you buy that, you'll play it for like a half a day then never touch it again.." lol and sadly sometimes that's true, I often don't feel like I'm getting enough back out of what I spend on my games.
PS I do rent games but for some reason I find that I play them less, put off starting them because I think "oh well it's a rental I can keep it until whenever..." LOLStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
