I'm in a gaming rut in which I boot up a game like Madden or NBA 2K16, and literally play for a few minutes and then close down the game and watch something on Netflix. I'm going to try and get through Tomb Raider and then move on from there. I still have an unopened Halo MCC that I'm unsure if I truly want to play.

I get like that where it's like 10 at night and I have my hour or so and I'd rather just lay there and watch tv....I get back in the groove eventually though.

This is what happens a lot to me too... It's so true because nowadays games are so complex, so in-depth, so many choices to make, so much craziness and sometimes I just feel like overwhelmed by starting a game up when I have an hour to play because I know I will:

        a) have to actually think and, depending upon the game, make moral choices and decisions that can affect things hugely

        b) likely get sucked in and end up playing for 4 hours and only end up getting a few hours sleep...

So I often just end up saying, oh to heck with it, I'm going to watch a Law & Order and go to bed, LOL.

That's a couple of the downsides I think that has resulted from games becoming more complex, more massive budget and more movie like is that they often seem like a bit more of a mental effort than one is willing to invest for relaxation (and let's face it, many games today are not relaxing, they are stress inducing LOL)

Very true. Most times I don't bother as I can't be bothered learning how to play something as it's too involved when you don't have the time.

I'm in that rut right now as well.

My gaming usually picks up when football is over though. I've got enough games to last me a while.
