gamestop dude when you get a new system buy the warranty.. if it RROD, take it back and get a new warranty with it at the time in case the previous step reoccurs... if you decide not to then you still have the 3 year thing with M$ to turn to.

I wish that were true. I've had my 360 die 3 times on me. The first 2 times I sent it in, I got the same console back. This last time, I got a refurb.

cool, I bought from BB and they wanted $49 for the 2 year warranty, didn't really want to spend $49 for it.

As for Microsoft...they can **** themselves. 2 consoles in the last 4 months dying out? That's a joke. I don't have the money to buy a PS3 but whenever I do, that's what I'm doing - buying a PS3. Tired of this MS BS. Tired, tired, tired.

On another note....looks like it was just a bad power brick and not the "true" RROD . MS is sending me a new brick in 5-10 days.

I would use a friends 360 If I were you If you have a league to run. You can hand it over to someone else or just end it for a while all together. I'm thinking you may be able to do this If you recover your gamer tag on a friends 360.

I definitely know what your going threw. I've been threw 3 of them but, the first one I got to trade for a new one in wal-mart because, the RROD was so wide spread. The second time It lasted longer but, my warranty already ran out so I had to buy a brand sapnkin' new one. Pissed me off to no end but, the PS3 was still like 500 bucks or some **** like that. I've been threw 3 360's and I'm hoping I won't have to go threw another one.

The price is the only reason I didn't buy a PS3 when It first came out but, by then I had to many games and was used to the 360. I'll buy a PS3 eventually for the exclusives but, other than that I'm to addicted to the 360 as of right now.

I've gotten refurbs the whole time. First time my Xbox went down was due to the e74 error. Sent it back, got a refurb. So I set up my "new" console and what do you know, faulty disc drive. It would only read Halo 3 and CoD:WaW... sent it back and I got another refurb. I've had this refurb for over a year now.

Meh. I've gotten my fair share of RROD's, but it doesn't bother me too much. Just send it in, get it back within 10 days + a free 1 month. No big deal to me.

Made the jump to the PS3 2 years ago after my 3rd xbox died. Bought a used 40GB off of Ebay for $350, still running strong. And guess what? If it overheats, the system beeps and shuts off. It doesn't die!

the BB warranty is great, if they still let you just pick a new console off the shelf as a replacement. It beats having to wait for it to get mailed in, and you don't get a refurb made in 2007.
