    Playstation Move

Reviews are slowly starting to appear.

    IGN - 8.5

But the biggest concern for consumers, next to quality, is, of course, cost, and Sony has actually been very smart in their pricing of PlayStation Move. While certainly not a cheap endeavor, the Move has been broken down, piece-by-piece, which allows users to buy only the parts they need. In other words, if you already own a PlayStation Eye and just need the controller and a game, you can do precisely that. The Move controller is being sold separately for $49.99 and the Navigation controller will cost $29.99, while the setup can be purchased with the camera, Move controller, and a copy of Sports Champions for $99.99. Prospective PlayStation 3 owners can even buy a bundle with the PlayStation Move, PlayStation Eye, Sports Champions, and a 320GB PlayStation 3 for $399.

At the end of the day, the PlayStation Move has the potential to be the best motion control system on the current crop of consoles; but unfortunately, the games offered at the moment just don't do the technology justice. If you're eager to buy into the system now, don't expect a whole lot of great content straight out of the gate, but with time and certain kinks ironed out, the Move could prove to be a great way to add new gameplay experiences to the PlayStation 3 and attract new, more casual players.
    EyePet - 8.0

    Sports Champions - 7.5

    Tumble - 3.5

    Kung Fu Rider - 3.5

    Raquet Sports - 4.5

High Velocity Bowling got a bad review based on the patch.

There are two ways to look at the Playstation Move, or any motion controlled gaming device that isn't the Wii. You can consider the hardware in a vacuum, without comparing it to the Wii. Or you can compare it to its obvious competition. Fortunately for the Move, either way you look at it, the Playstation 3's answer to motion gaming seems to have what it takes to compete. The question is can they set themselves apart from a console that doesn't just own the market, it practically invented it.

The Playstation Move is a intuitive, natural feeling way to play games and it brings with it not only a sense of increased immersion to already graphically immersive games, but a new way to play with your reality and a refreshing form of colorful feedback.

    Re: Playstation Move

After these reviews I am very undecided on this thing.......considering some of the issues with light, windows, etc. in the environment. It sounds like the hardware is well built and the best of the motion control hardware of the three.......but I am disappointed by the issues in the environment that can hamper this. My current setup we had to move upstairs in the family room due to making some changes to the basement and my setup sits right by a huge window with rear lighting where we sit.

It doesn't help that launch software for Move is not that good considering that Wii Sports Resort offers much more than Sports Champions does.......and that Kinect looks to have some decent titles on launch. My wife saw Dance Central yesterday and her jaw drop at how cool it was........and was like we need to get that. Right now, I think Move is missing that killer app which they needed at launch to hook people.

OPM Tiger Woods 11 with Move Review - 4

'Almost none of the key gameplay features - use of Focus, draw and fade shots, aiming - work in conjunction with the controller, meaning your stroke-making abilities feel more neutered than Elin Nordegren must wish her husband was.
'The game really does rely on them in order to allow you to achieve any kind of vaguely satisfying results.'

'You also can't impart spin, add extra power, or even navigate menus using Move - only with the pad.'

The review concludes by saying that it won't take to long before you simply drop the controller altogether.

John Daly's Pro Stroke Golf has been getting much better impressions.

That's lame as hell... why wouldn't they take the time to make it work as it does on the Wii? Guess I'll be picking up the Wii version after all this year.

I am considering picking this up at launch, but kinda hesitant based on what I just read in this thread. I already have Tiger and HVB and poor reviews there don't sound good. I wonder if The Show will get a patch for Move.

Me neither. All seems a waste of time to me. I much rather relax, kicked back with my feet up and a controller in my hand. I will never go motion tech to be honest.

I'll probably end up getting it for my kids, but for me, I'm the same way. Kicked back with a controller in my hands.
I'll pass on the move games.

The only titles that interest me are EyePet and Sports Champions.....but I prefer to sit on the couch and relaz while playing.

Yeah, same with Kinect. Unless I suddenly start throwing parties where Dance Party would be awesome (the only good fit for these right now is casual groups)...

I'm waiting until next year sometime when the games for people like us actually use Kinect and Move...by then there'll probably be a price drop too lol
