Re: PSP2 Information
Just got back from my local Gamestop and dropped $50 on my preorder for the PSP2. The gamestop employee told me that the price in the system was $300, but emphasized that the price is still unkown and can be a little higher than that. They also told me that the release date in their system is 1/1/12 which will change once they get more information.PSN: ckarlic

Kojima to Announce NGP “Dream” Game at E3
As if it couldn’t get any better. Hot off the back of the announcement of the NGP (or PSP2), it has been revealed that Hideo Kojima is making an NGP game.
On stage at the PlayStation Meeting 2011, the Metal Gear god announced:
When we launched Peace Walker for PSP, this is what I said: In the near future there will be a world of cloud computing… I really believe that you can have a portable MGS and Peace Walker was an experiment for the cloud computing future. NGP allows this cloud computing.
What I’d like to realize is playing on your PS3, and when you go out, you put the game on your NGP, and when you come back home, you can once again use your PS3 and large screen TV.
Continuing:
This dream is going to come true in the near future. And right now, I’m working on this project of the dream. I’m sorry, I can’t reveal this now. But we’d like to present what we’re doing at E3Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PSP2 Information
I would love to be able to switch between a handheld and console for some sports games but as great as that sounds I'm sure that means you have to buy both games for both systems which is pricey. It would be nice if they could do something like the Blu Ray discs being sold - pay a little more and get copies of both games. Or give you a discount on one or the other is you buy both.Comment

If I had to buy the game twice, I wouldn't be interested.Currently Playing:

Re: PSP2 Information
What kind of compatibility are we talking about here? The thought of a fully compatible sports game (being able to take my franchise on the bus with me) excites me greatly, but it also does not seem feasible to, on a fully digital platform, have games the same size as PS3 games. Maybe I'm missing something, though.Comment

Re: PSP2 Information
Didn't they try the compatibility thing with the original PSP and PS2 sports games like Madden? I remember in 07 and 08 that you could transfer your franchise save files from one platform to another, but I have no clue how many people actually used it, nor do I know how well it actually worked.Currently Playing:

Re: PSP2 Information
I don't think the games have to be the same size though. I would think only the franchise save data would have to be identical. How the game is played and the graphics of each game wouldn't have to be exact. It certainly seems like they are aiming for something like this and I think it would be a huge addition to handheld gaming. You aren't going to compete with the $2 iphone games so you dedicate your system to the hardcore. This is the kind of feature that appeals to them.
I really have no idea how much space that requires, just thinking aloud here.Comment

They would just have to make it so both games use the same save file. Not that will be easy or anything, but the way these developers have been saying how easy it was to port PS3 games to the NGP, it is promising.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
