    Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion

Interviewed to move to the overnight shift today. If I get that (and I am the most qualified among the applicants), I will probably finally get a Vita. Overnight is downtime and more money, will give me plenty of time to game. Also, no supervisors to tell me not to! lol Excited for the Vita if it happens. Surprised I have been able to hold out this long.

Edit: I have no idea why there is a thumbs down on the post. Stupid Internet Explorer at work

No need - already had it. Had it for a long time actually, but never got around to finishing it.

Anything in particular you want to know? I definitely prefer playing the game on the analog sticks instead of the PSP's nub.

Just tell me all about it... I was out today for a few hours at an appointment and left my Vita home but would've DL just to be able to play at that time...

I still want it.. is this worth the price of admission?

I'm right there with you on this. I understand the graphics won't improve but does it look any better?

As far as the graphics go, pretty much all PSP games just look sharper and more vibrant on the Vita. It's not like the textures are upgraded or anything, but it's still pretty easy to tell the difference when I play a game on Vita vs. PSP.

As for this particular game, it's one of the better games in the entire PSP library IMO, and it wasn't that far removed from being a launch title. If you played GTA III you know what you're getting, as it takes place in that version of Liberty City. The whole city from the PS2 game is there, and even though the textures are scaled down to fit on the PSP, it still looks pretty good. The game is a prequel, and the protagonist is one of your early bosses from GTA III, Tony Cipriani. As you might guess, the Mafia plays a more central role in this game (think Salvatore Leone), but you still take jobs from other "colorful" characters as you open up more of the city. There's a couple of additions gameplay-wise from GTA3 that came later in the series - the ability to ride motorcycles and the taxi ride to get you back to a mission you just failed quickly. Tony still can't swim, though.

IGN's video review does a pretty good job overviewing the game, though I'd stay away from the print review because it has some late-game spoilers. The video does show what is hands down the most annoying mission in the game, but it's a fairly early one and the game goes uphill after you manage to get past it IMO. Skip to 1:00 for the start of the review:

Oh, and the voice acting is great, and the radio stations are there in all their glory.

Alright ladies and gentlemen I need your help. I REALLY want a Vita for MLB The Show and a couple of other games, BUT I can't justify to myself a reason for getting it. I've got a two year old son and a wife that I spend my days after work with (unless I just want to get away), and whenever we go places, I get car sick so I usually wind up driving anywhere we go. To top it off, my wife got me a GAEMZ traveling game case for our anniversary so if we go to a relatives house or something, I can just load up my PS3 in the suitcase type thing and play on it.

I COULD play the Vita at work, but I don't want to be lazy at work and have people think less of me. I just really love the idea that I could play my RTTS or Franchise somewhere away from the house and then come home and pick up where I left off. Also, I know that the 3G version would be awesome to have but AT&T reception where I am is absolutely atrocious. I'm just stuck. I don't know what to do.

                          HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! haha

Just downloaded Hot Shots Tennis for the Vita, previously released on the PSP. Thanks for recommending that, it seems to be a fun game. Any other great PSP games that are available on the Vita I can pass some time until actual games come out for the VIta? I was thinking about God of War...

If you don't have it already, buy GTA. I've been addicted to that game. All I've been playing on my Vita for the last few days.
