A user review on meta critic I think captures my thoughts about Fifa 13 to a T. I think it was treated unfairly in reviews and not given a fair shot for what it does improve on:
"Let's start off with all the negative reviews...I agree with you 100%. Now I want to let everyone know why they are all wrong...in some part.
The game is basically the same game as Fifa Soccer, as stated by over a dozen people. The menu set up is the same, which was pretty bland to begin with, but it is functional. The loading is the same (you still have the ability to run around with a soccer player and shoot the ball in the net (yes, it is still very boring).
The majority of the people complaining are saying how it has the 'Exact' gameplay...they are wrong. The gameplay is noticeably different. The players move more fluidly, the ball bounces more realistically, the AI is better (Which is great, they were horrible in last years version), and the graphics are noticeably crisper.
All in all, the game is the same, however, the game has a different 'gameplay' feel. Soccer is soccer and you can't change the game that much to get a drastic difference. We are talking about Fifa here, the game plays the same year in and year out, the only difference we ever see each year are a little sharper graphics and the change of the menu. Since the menu design did not change people went crazy. Sure it annoys me, but the game is great.
If you have the 'Launch' title of Fifa then you probably don't need to get this game, however, if you enjoy sharper graphics, a slightly noticeable gameplay difference, a change of commentary, updated rosters, and the warm fuzzy feeling knowing you have the 'updated' version of Fifa, then get this game.
Consider one thing...If this game was the first Fifa to arrive on the PSVITA then this game would be give a score in the 80s or possibly in the low 90s, but since the game feels similar to the past Fifa people are throwing fits. I for one enjoy the change in AI..."
Again, if you are a footy fan like myself you owe it to yourself to pick up fifa. I will go as far to say as this is my favorite portable sports title, edging out the show.YNWAComment

Numbers up in sales this week. Up to 13,000 from 4,000 the week before. Obviously you can't read too much into that but it is good to see.YNWAComment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Anything in particular you want to know about it? This isn't my first go-round with P4 - I started to play it shortly after finishing P3, but that's when I heard there was a Vita version coming and decided to wait.
Already seen a few new things so far: New intro (though I personally like the old one better), Very Hard difficulty level (I'm playing hard and I have my hands full with battles!) and one new NPC Social Link.
There's a retry feature now if you die that allows you to start from the floor you were on instead of being forced back to your last save, which I'm sure is meant to make the game more accessible. Since if your main character dies it's game over (like FFXIII), death can come pretty quickly. But, since I did play P3 so much without a safety net like that, I got quite used to protecting myself at all costs and I probably won't use that option.
There's also an interesting feature where you can send for and recieve help from other players while in a dungeon area. It's not anything as complicated as Demon/Dark Souls help, it only boosts your HP and SP (this game's magic points) if someone answers and it's not a huge boost. Couple of other networking features as well - a button you can press which shows what the most common actions were by other players on any given day (going by the game's calendar), and also what the most common persona fusions were out of the personae you're currently using.
One of the main characters voices, Chie, has been recast and it sticks out like a sore thumb to anyone who played the original for more than about a half hour. If there's one thing I'm not feeling about this game so far it's that, but maybe I'll get used it to it.
Loving this game so far, though at this point I'm just trying to catch up to where I was before and catch any new stuff along the way.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
That's a tough question, but I'd call it a Turn-Based JRPG with a heavy dose of Life Simulator. You're a student and you still go about your daily life while fighting monsters and rescuing people. The people you meet and talk to (Social Links) are what give you the ability to create stronger Personas to fight with.
That's the stripped-down version, I guess. You wouldn't think it would work, but it does - and there's a reason this was among the best games of 2008.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Bit more detail on P4 Golden's "Rescue Requests" feature I mentioned earlier (the HP/SP boost from other players) - the boost is dependent upon how many players answer the help call. I just tried it earlier before a boss fight and 3 people answered compared to the 1 from last night, and the boost was about three times as much, almost a quarter of my total HP/SP. I dare say it actually helped me pull through that fight.
....And then I managed to get TPK'd in my very next fight afterward, forcing me back to before the boss (even if I had taken the retry option it would have started me back on the same floor, and before the boss).
Yep, this game can be ruthless at times.Comment

Crap, in the back if my mind I thought "maybe I'll be able to hang in there with my 4gb card" .
Uncharted = 3.5 gb! There went that. Guess who has a 32 card on his Christmas list?
