Just to clarify, I meant I will start with getting a couple of games and then build up over time.

Yeah, I agree the 4 gig will be too small once I get into the system down the track but as an initial option it should do nicely.

A question for anyone who cares to contribute, the vita seems like hardware that has plenty of potential but do you think developers are/will commit to exploring what it can do by bringing out lots more titles for it? The lack of games is a bit worrying. In Australia the vita section in games stores is tiny.

I do not understand why in the world they are putting 4gb cards as Gold box items unless they have way too many. You would think they would flirt with the idea of placing 16gb or 32gb as a gold box.

Too right Cap!! It seems like a stingy attempt to meet the consumer with at least some show of decency upon the initial purchase of the unit. Given the sheer cost of the cards and the fact that they are Sony propriety cards means that to get any serious usage out of the device you have to make a hefty financial investment above the initial outlay of the actual console.

The inclusion of at least a 16 gig card would have been a touch of class by Sony because that would give a sufficient enough ammount of room to get into setting up, exploring and enjoying the machine not just as a games unit but as a multimedia and gaming experience which is what the Vita is really offering.

I was hoping for a price drop to maybe compete with the introduction of the Wii U. Hasn't happened .

From what I have experienced, the Vita is a damn impressive piece of tech though and certainly good enough to have me interested.

The Vita is a nice piece of hardware that should of came packaged with a 4 or 8gb memory card plain and simple. If Sony were smart at this point, they would package each Vita system with a 4gb memory card, a download code for one of the new Vita releases (ex. Playstation All-Stars, COD, etc.) and a free 30 day PS+ membership at $199. I know they can't afford a $50 loss, but they make up for it with that free Plus membership because it can get someone to subscribe + it could lead to sales of a bigger memory card.

In the coming year, I'll be getting more use out of my Vita, as my new job will not only require me to travel, I'll need to try and get some gaming in during my lunch break since my commute to-and-from work will be lengthy.

Here's some games I'm thinking of adding to the collection:
Little Big Planet
Assassain's Creed
Chrono Trigger
Need for Speed
Zero Escape

I've also got my eye on the Sly Cooper Collection that's coming out in Feb. 2013. Anything else coming out in the next 1-2 months that I should be on the lookout for?

Oh, and also have MLB 13 The Show locked in

I agree that 4 GB was a little small to offer on the lightning deals, but if you got in on both of them (one on Black Friday, and the other on Cyber Monday), that was 8 GB for the price of 4. And thanks to that I'm now up to a total of 28 GB (more than I'm going to need for a while, especially if I buy physical copies of games), so I think it was worthwhile.

In other news, I just reached a point where it's obvious why P4 has an M rating. Yikes.

Not going to go into too many details, but the third rescue arc (Rise), the dungeon stage associated with that rescue, and the boss fight. OH GOD, the boss fight.

Heard a lot of good things about NFS. I'm trading in Madden 13 (360) and a few other games, so I'll likely pick that up first. I still have several non-sports games to get through, too, but will pick up the games I mentioned with any Christmas money I happen to receive.

Is it to early to start a MLB the Show 13 thread? I'm really curious is they'll have in game replay this year, it's my favorite game, but no replay really detracted from the game experience.

Speaking about games like Rayman, for those with PS+, I highly recommend downloading Mutant Blobs since its free. This has to be one of the better platformers I have played and I am surprised considering that this is a cheaper game. There are some frustrating parts with the platforming in some areas, but a little bit of practice and you can get through those parts.
