Curious to know if the Vita has seen a significant sales spike since the ps4 release.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Because of the rear touchpad?
Yeah, I seriously hope they find something to address this. I know games won't go as far as patching in "Vita" control schemes, but damn there needs to be some kind of patch.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I was thinking of trying to 3d print a bracket for more precise guidance if not outright buttons for the backplate. Doubt I'll ever follow through with doing it, but it's my next attempt to make this a better experience.
Allowing us to remap buttons and make our own concessions with the controls would go a long way.

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
That was my fear with remote play. Good concept but without a way to modify the controls, sports games are near-impossible to play. The remote play is cool but it is not possible to mimic the PS4 controller with this thing. Trying to play NBA2k14 is damn near impossible. Just a waste.

Yep, with my index fingers on the triggers there is no way for my middle fingers to hit the top of the rear touchpad at all.

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I had the same idea. I was going to do mechanical triggers and buy some wacom nubs for the touch pad contacts. I don't yet know how the Vita works like that though, and I'm not even sure I want to go through the expense.I was thinking of trying to 3d print a bracket for more precise guidance if not outright buttons for the backplate. I don't have much trouble hitting the rear touchpad with my index fingers on the triggers, I just need some type of grips as my grip on the Vita is a little loose when I do that. I'm thinking this one maybe, plus the frame around the touch pad would make it easier to tell when I am touching the pad.Yep, with my index fingers on the triggers there is no way for my middle fingers to hit the top of the rear touchpad at all.

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I guess I'm in the minority here. I have absolutely no issues playing 2K14 on the Vita. In fact, I have no choice since my TV is in use most of the time. However, I shoukd mention that I use the trigger grip http://www.ps3blog.net/2012/03/26/ac...grip-for-vita/"The older I get, the faster I was!"

I use the same grips. I haven't had too much trouble remote playing but there is a slight learning curve. I kind of had to rethink the way I held my Vita, and kind of 'roll' my middle finger down that incline to touch L2/R2.I guess I'm in the minority here. With that said I have thought about modelling up and doing a 3D print of a trigger grip that uses a capacitance tip as a mechanical trigger.

I haven't tried any other ones, but I bought those day one and hated them. Gave them a second chance and re-bought them thinking a different set of games would make it better (after reading people who liked it on OS), and still didn't like them.I guess I'm in the minority here. For R2/L2 functionality with Remote Play though, these might be necessary. I still want to try some other grips around the stores and see what is most suitable though.
By the way, people say you can directly link the Vita with the PS4 via a cable. Is that with the cable that comes with the Vita? If so, that's incredibly short (no more than three feet, I'm guessing). Are there longer ones out there?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I bet the add-on companies will make one that has triggers and stuff...wouldn't surprise me.I haven't tried any other ones, but I bought those day one and hated them. But seriously, you should just need an ordinary USB extension cable, they are cheap.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
The vita cable is a usb on the back end so I don't know what people are talking about using the ps controller. It might be possible but you'd need the right cable to link it to the vita cable.
Using the remote play is pretty sweet and convenient. . Making something with an r2 l2 button shouldn't be hard
