Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Yeah that's ridiculous. I'll never understand why employees at GameStop (or any other retailer, but GS employees seem to be the ones that do this the most) feel the need to air their personal dislikes of a game/console with their customers.
I was at a store the other day and one of the guys behind the counter was trying to talk a guy out of buying MLB 14 The Show for the PS4. Luckily I was there and explained how great the series is and that The Show has been responsible for me buying a PSP, PS3 and PS Vita. The customer was clearly a baseball fan, but had never played the game. I walked him through all you could do and explained Dynamic Difficulty and some of the other user-friendly options available to him. The guy thanked me and wound up buying the game.
That "cracking" sound happens with just about any console or handheld. My 3DS XL does that quite frequently, and let me check, yep still works just fine and is in flawless condition.
So yeah, pay those employees no mind and just do what is going to make you happy. Let us know how you like the Vita once you pick it up.Currently Playing:

Screw those guys at Gamestop. The only thing that the old Vita model has over the Slim is the OLED and once you play the slim, you won't even care about the OLED. The slim is a million times better and the battery life on it makes a whole world of difference, its more ergonomic, and I don't know what they are talking about a "cracking" noise unless its something "cracking in their heads". LOL!Comment

I don't know about that one.Bodycheck, anyone?

Hey, I am desperate for any sports game (other than The Show, which I am playing the heck out of) on my Vita at this point!
Have you played:
FIFA Soccer, 13 or 14? (even if you're not a die-hard soccer fan these are good games. Gameplay-wise they are identical, so I'd go with the cheapest if you don't care about updated rosters)
Madden 13?
Virtua Tennis 4?
Hot Shots Golf World Invitational?
All of those games are worth the price of admission. Combine those games with MLB The Show and the Vita has a pretty solid sports lineup.
Of course I'd love to see games like NBA 2K and EA's NHL make their way to the Vita, but it's pretty clear that's not happening. Heck, even Madden was a one-off (which is a shame because M13 ran on the M12 engine so the gameplay was a lot better than the 360/PS3 version and also featured the better post-play replay angles and camera cuts).
Every few months I'll make my recommendation for games that should be on the Vita (and even the 3DS):
Tecmo Super Bowl (with current rosters)
NHL 94 (with updated rosters)
NBA Jam (with updated rosters)
WWE 2K
The first three listed wouldn't have extravagant production costs, thus enabling the publishers a better chance at claiming more of a return on their investment.Currently Playing:

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I do get the "cracking" noise, but it's hardly a reason to not buy a system. The noise has no reflection on the quality of the product. The only reason that noise exists is due to people applying extra pressure on their grip and playing the system for long periods of time.Screw those guys at Gamestop. That extra battery life is worth the change in the screen, imo. While I love my launch Vita, it does get annoying to have to plug it in on almost a nightly basis after playing a couple games of MLB The Show.Currently Playing:

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
You are right, I was hoping for new stuff, but there is some stuff out there. I do have the first FIFA (and, as you say, worthwhile even for a non-soccer guy like me) and I play Madden 13 all through the football season. I have not tried the tennis or the golf. Not a fan of either sport, but probably still fun to play. That does give me something to buy!I don't know about that one.

Agreed - I'd love to see a hockey game on the Vita, but there appears no chance of that.Comment

More today, met with a lot of 'RIP Vita' replies many places:
Sony is planning on indie and third-party games — as well as Remote Play — to support the PlayStation Vita, with less of a focus on first-party games, according to Shuhei Yoshida.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I am not a fan of the direction Sony is taking with the Vita. I'm all for indie games getting attention, but I didn't buy the Vita in the thoughts that it would be a dedicated indie-game machine with PS4 remote play capabilities.More today, met with a lot of 'RIP Vita' replies many places:

I've got a strong enough library to where I'll be fine for a few years and who knows, maybe the streaming of PS3 games will be decent but I have to admit this news is disappointing.Currently Playing:

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I'm more interested in the third-party support.
I know I'm in the tiny minority, but I don't really care at all if I don't see an Uncharted/God of War/whatever on the Vita.
Sad news for the sales of it though. If Sony won't support it, why would third parties.badComment

I would like to also add in Real Boxing. It may be the last boxing game on any console.I don't know about that one.

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
If that's the direction they want to go....so be it. BUT remote play better be on point. At home or on the road through wifi, remotely play must be seamless. I think that's sony train of thought. The want the vita to basically be your ps4 " on the go" type of machine.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
That's my fear is that third-parties will be even more hesitant to build games for the Vita after seeing that Sony itself is pulling back.
Hopefully MLB The Show continues to see an annual release on the Vita.Currently Playing:
