Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
So I got a good deal and made the Vita plunge today (should be here in a few days), it's coming with a COD BO Declassified, Assasins Creed 3 and I bought Little Big Planet and Mod Nation Racers for cheap. I'm probably going to pick up The Show 14 to hold me til I get my PS4.
Beyond those, any games/accessories you folks reccomend?
I'd recommend:
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Gravity Rush
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
FIFA Soccer (all three games are the same gameplay-wise, so may as well buy the cheapest one. I still play it.)
Madden 13
The Walking Dead Complete Season 1
Virtua Tennis 4 World Tour
Hot Shots Golf World Invitational
MLB The Show (any of them)Currently Playing:
MLB The Show 25 (PS5)Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Persona 4 Golden, if you enjoy RPG's and haven't played the PS2 game. Can be a bit intimidating at the higher difficulty levels, but is very approachable on normal and below (5 difficulty levels in all). Will give you at least 70 hours on a playthrough, and probably more.
Pretty much everything on DJ's list, and one note about Madden '13 - it's the last game to feature the "old" franchise mode seen in earlier maddens. It does not have the connected career mode the PS3 '13 had. I actually see that as a good thing, in some ways.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Does that have the original PS1 version? I played that game forever, I loved the stealth in it, then after beating it and getting the invisibility cloak or whatever just walking up and killing guys was pretty enjoyable.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Nope. It's only MGS2 (Substance) and MGS3 (Subsistence, thus it includes the MSX2 games). It doesn't even have Peace Walker HD like the console versions. MGS1 is on the PSN as a classic, though, and it's playable on Vita.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Sadly, MGS1 is not playable on the Vita as of yesterday as a PSN classic.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
It's one of those ones that is not downloadable on Vita, but is still playable on Vita. You'll need to download it on a PS3 and transfer it with the Content Manager. I don't know for sure why there are games in this situation, but I assume it's down to some sort of legal shenanigans.
EDIT: According to a quote I found HERE, my speculation is indeed exactly what's going on.
Each territory is completely unique and must go through its own individual processes for approvals in order to be available for purchase directly on PS Vita through PlayStation Store. We work collaboratively with all parties involved, including third party publishers, to ensure that we are following the proper protocol.Last edited by spidertour02; 07-07-2014, 09:46 PM.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
bummer, so i will have to wait until I get my PS4 to get MGS1?? OR could I log in from a friends PS3 and get it there (I'm new to all this newfangled PS stuff)...I assume both ways would work.
BOOM! Just won Hot Shots World Invitational for $8.54 shipped...ready to get home from my trip to go trade in some items and get The Show 14 and I'll be set...for a little while...Last edited by nc0ffey; 07-07-2014, 10:51 PM.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
You should be able to use a friend's PS3 without an issue, so long as you purchase it with your own account. (Strangely, we can't download Vita content on the PS4 yet.)Comment

EDIT #2: Here's a great list via NeoGAF that identifies which ones will work using the PS3 transfer method I mentioned above and which ones will not.Comment
