I going to use the free month 3G and then cancel it. You can cancel then if I want/need it, I can activate it again. Not too hard. I have AT&T anyway.

Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
I decided on the Wifi version, 32gb card (a little overkill there), a got a $15 soft case that holds the charger and games, along with Hot Shots. Once I get the Vita in my hands I'll probably grab Uncharted at that time too.

Don't you have to buy a month before you can get the free month? I think that's how it works.

Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
Im rolling with the 3G version, basically because I want it a week early. If i could get the wifi version this week i would. But im all about the instant gratification!
Im also getting the 32GB mem card. I wont use it for music but i want to have video on it & download games without worrying about size. With netflix, movies and games this thing is going to be the ultimatr timewaster...Comment

Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
So...I caved big time and ended up going for the first edition Vita (yes, that's 3G after I said I wouldn't need it). The justification? Sprint's 3G service isn't cheap and I can't guarantee that I'll have it forever (or even beyond this year). So, as I understand it I don't have to use the AT&T service, but I can keep that possibility for later just in case.
So, yeah. First edition Vita, 16 GB Memory card, Hot Shots, and one of those screen protectors.
(and I'd be lying if I said getting significantly more than expected back on my taxes didn't have something to do with this)Comment

I'm looking for a reason to get the 3G model, but I don't want to have spent $50 more for something I might not end up using. What exactly does the 3G service offer? Does "going on the web anywhere" fall under that? If the web browser is as poor on it as it has been in videos, it probably wouldn't even be worth it anyway.
So stuck on this one. With the Vita and its games/components plus MLB The Show, SSX, and Twisted Metal coming out in the next month, I'm going to be way in the red. I'm wondering if I should just go even more in the red anyway lol.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
Everything I've read about the First edition says it comes with a 4 GB card. Considering many of my PSP games will still work on the Vita and I need space to accommodate them, starting with 20 GB seemed like a good idea.

Anyway, I don't know if I would want to have two memory cards. It seems like that would be like having two hard drives for your PS3. I don't know if anything would transition over, from demos to file saves, and anything else in between. Kind of makes the point of having a second one moot.
I'm also sitting here, wondering if they'll someday come out with a second generation version that is slightly smaller in every way (buttons and sticks still the same size) with 4G inclusion. That would be interesting.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
Looking at what they did with the all the versions of the PSP, I would say it's a safe bet that we'll see a tweaked Vita-slim.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: PSVITA Handheld Information
Well, I've never owned a handheld in the past, so it will definitely be new for me. As far as PSX/PS2, you could have two memory cards in at a time, which I did, so that was no problem for me. Plus, as you said, those memory cards were just for saves. Now that you can store all sorts of media, it just seems a bit off to have two different ones in a way, especially when you have to somehow "carry" it around with you when you're on the go.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
