Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
First Impressions
Blown away. The handheld is better at home than it was when I played it at the store. I can't explain why but the screen is just gorgous without the nasty store lighting and half inch cable attached to it. The set-up has been quick and easy and in took me about 20 minutes to download the updates and get my account situated.
The menus are very well thought out and very easy on the eyes. I'm thinking "this is so cool" with each touch of the screen. The playstation store is so easy to use that it practically begs you to buy games. I doubt I'll be able to resist downloading Stardust and Escape Plan for more than 24 hours.
I'm loving it so far.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
If there is one thing I dislike about the Hot Shots series, it's that there is no recourse other than chipping out to a safer area in spots like this. The game doesn't allow you to go into full swing mode when you're that close to the pin, which means you'll never hit it high enough to clear something like that.
It's not like it's a bug either - it's been this way ever since I started playing the series (which goes all the way back to HSG 2 on the PS1)
Best thing to do when you see hills like that is to aim far, far away. And if the pin is close to them, you might be better off aiming center green.Last edited by bcruise; 02-25-2012, 06:27 PM.Comment

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt (and the +4 snowman on that hole!)

When I clicked that link, I literally laughed out loud because that is the EXACT spot ! LOL
I was too deep into the failure to try to take a safe shot. I was determined to get it over that crest !Gamertags

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I will tell you this, if it weren't for the deals going on right now at the retailers, I would be buying games from PSN and I have never done that before.
Although its not that inconvenient , I can see why people don't like switching out the card. I'd like to just find the game in the menu and start it.Gamertags

I think the joysticks are too low and should have been setup the tradional way with the buttons below. The way it is setup even with the grips, my hands cramp up for games like F1 2011.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Was talking to Jaaaaaaaaaaaaasoooooooooooooooon earlier about this (and now George), I'm not really a fan of the PSVita interface. Why not use the XMB like the PS3/PSP use? Just don't understand why they would use two different UI's.
Other than that, I love this beast.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I think Brett that the PS3 will get an update here soon with your favorite BUBBLES. LOL! I'm a fan of the XMB and always have been, but this new UI is not bad at all. Sony needs to keep it the same across both the Vita and PS3. I hated the bubble UI at first when it was unveiled in the fall.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I like the interface but if it weren't for the touch screen, I probably wouldn't.
I just think its intuitive and the navigation is easy and I like how applications are closed by the swipe of the corner.Gamertags

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Man on a mission!
After hitting 3 Best Buys, a Game Stop, and a Target, I think I have everything I need/want.
First Best Buy didn't have the WiFi Version. Second one had the WiFi, but no 32G card. (They did match the Target add and gave me a 4G card free) Third Best Buy had a 32G card. Game Stop had the Trigger Case. Target had the screen protectors.
So, I got:
Vita WiFi, 4G and 32G card, Trigger Case, and screen protectors. I haven't opened the box yet, but I did start downloading HSG on the PS3.
Thanks again for all the impressions. It really pushed me over the edge!Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Thank you, Amazon for your screw up.
My Travel Pouch never showed so they hooked me up with a $10 credit promo and will be sending me another one (over night).
So add that to the $20 credit they gave us the other day (several of us, at least) and I just got myself an 8GB Memory Card at no charge.
Ha! They gave me ANOTHER $12 credit for this screw up.
What a glorious win!
Amazon, I love you.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
The worst part about this new UI is the lack of folders. Take the game data installs for example: I own the physical copies, so why the hell do I need to have a bubble of the games on my screen at all times? Put that data in a folder just like the XMB does, and then when I put in said game, have it pop up on the screen.
Right now this is my only complaint with this thing... The entire UI just feels very "beta".Comment
