My son has been using remote play all day works great. I was at the dr. And he even played marvel there on their wifi. Little pixilated when not on same network, but playable. On our home wifi it works flawless. He played in bed last night.

I played a game of NBA through remote play earlier today. Controls took a bit to get used to, but it looked great and worked just fine.

I don't know how if it's a cause of it, but since PS4's release I can't stay in a KZ: Mercenary online match for more than two minutes anymore.

Damn you guys hogging up PSN and making Vita's online play inferior!

I've had a hard time getting motivated to do much remote play so far, I'm so put off by oft - used triggers being mapped to quadrants on the rear touchpad.

I was trying to do the skill challenges in Madden and failing because I wasn't able to press sprint consistently.

That's what I was thinking. I was hoping developers were going to be better about making buttons more customizable, or having a patch readily available to allow for some touchscreen features. The rear touchpad simply does not work for certain games.

That's a shame some developers aren't being more cautious about something like that. Don't know why more games don't have more customizable controls anyway.

Wait, so could he remotely turn on the PS4 through his vita? If so, then wow that's sweet.

Yeah, not sure about all the way off but it will wake it up from standby.

Did not know that! I hadn't even thought of the possibility to do that. That might be what finally sells me one.

I'm playing my PS4 on remote play about 90% of the time since my TV is tied up by the family.

Impressions: Tested with Uverse router in the same room using primarily NBA2K14.

                    †Pros:
                    • Easy to configure and all PS4 functionality is available on Vita.
                    • Plays very smooth over the same network.
                    • All the buttons are available (although some on touchpad).
                    • Portability to watch and play movies from the Vita.
                    • Games and movies look amazing.

                    -Con's
                    • Games suffer from latency when router is in heavy use.
                    • Buttons on touchpad are hard to initiate due to no actual button.
                    • Text on small screen is hard to read.
                    • Depending on router type, you will have to be no more than 50ft. from router.
                    • No touchscreen functionality on some games. (It works on some games! Yay!!! COD allows you to melle and throw grenades.)

Guys, I have my PS4 Ethernet cable connected. I had absolutely no lag on COD Ghosts but when enemies are far away they are mighty hard to see. The left and right analog sticks are also sensitive and it takes getting used to.

Also, I'm going to assume that since 2K14 isn't officially Remote Play supported that it may be why I'm seeing the inconsistent performance.

Thanks guys, this is good to hear. I wonder if they'll keep improving on it in patches as time goes on.

Is your PS4 running wirelessly as well? Mine will be going through an Ethernet cable.

FWIW the Uverse routers aren't the best (especially signal strength). You running the PS4 wireless? Might help to switch it to wired (get rid of some wireless traffic).

I feel like I might need to get a better router before getting my PS4, or I might get an upgrade (if I can get them to pay for it, which I don't think they will) to the new 45MB tier, with the new equipment (motorola with N). I just don't want to pay to install it, I can buy a better router than the new one likely is for less than that installation fee.

In the current/previous generation, I went with the 360, so I have never been able to use my Vita for remote play. Now, I am thinking about getting a cheap used PS3, so I can play NHL, NCAA Football and GTA 5 on my Vita (Damn, this would have been easier if EA and Rockstar would have just made a Vita version of them!)[there are not really any games that excite me enough to buy a PS4]. I just have some noob questions about remote play (with the PS3 especially) - I apologize if these have been asked a hundred times before:

                                1) Do you have to keep the PS3 on all the time to use remote play?
                                2) Can you use the remote play while somebody is watching a tv show on the tv?
                                3) How is the remote play of NHL, NCAA Football and GTA 5?

                                Thanks much!
