That would explain why on my bank statements it showed up as "Skullcandy Inc".

Loving my X42's but I'm not gonna lie, I'm intrigued by the reviews of the Astro A50 & the A40. I'm tempted to go swap out but just not sure if it would be worth it. What is the difference between the 40/50 other than the wires? How long is the cord? Sound difference??

Right, and Skullcandy is almost ready to launch their new line of gaming headsets. The A40's may not be on the market too much longer. New, of course.

The A40 is awesome. So comfortable and works for PS3, 360, and PC.

Caved and went all in. Astro A50. Took the TB X42's back and just decided to finally make the leap to what I personally feel is the "Best" based on my research.

Best choice there is. Astros can't be beat. I hope Skullcandy keeps things where Astro was at. Their headsets look a little cheap, SC's that is.

                  Re: Gaming headsets

Just tried these X50's on Nba 2K13 & X COM and I can't even begin to tell you how "GREAT" these are. Playing X COM on a mission and there was a car that exploded and it literally scared the %% out of me. I actually jumped. Lol

Compared to the X42's that I purchased/returned after using these I would compare the TB 42's and The Trittons 720's to the Microsoft's $20 wired headset that use to come with the systems and I'm not BS'ing. Never before have I experienced gaming sound like this.

The directional sound is just incredible. I'm hearing things and I have no doubt from which direction that it is coming from. Sound is simply mind-blowing.

In closing if you have the extra cash to throw at these you won't regret it as it has taken my gaming exp to a level that I never even dreamed of reaching.

Skullcandy seems to have crossed over into making actual good headphones, the Aviators are legit (just ugly IMO).

Right. I'm just worried about gaming headsets. Hopefully they nail it. If you don't have the extra cash, the afterglow headsets are supposedly awesome. That would be my next choice.

I've been taking a hard look at these this weekend. You might have just made up mind to pull the trigger on these bad boys.

Of course, less than a week after I order the 2012 Astro A40's, Astro Gaming launches the 2013 version lol.

Yea I went looking for them this past weekend but couldn't find any. Now I see these online.

I'll probably be ordering these in a week or two since my birthday is coming up.

The only difference I see between the 2012 model and 2013 model is the mixamp has 4 preset EQ settings, the headset looks different and the quick disconnect cable is different. Other than that, everything looks the same.

Anyway, my A40's should be here today! Cannot wait to try them after school and see how they perform!
