I purchased a pair of Skullcandy SLYR headphones for my 12YO. He loves them and it they're compatible with all of his various consoles and devices.

However, I can't find a way to make sure that when the headset is plugged in, the sound only comes from the headset and not the TV.

How it's hooked up is the Xbox 360 E has an HDMI cable going from console to tv.
But for the headset, it's plugged in via the white-red component connection.
So I'm guessing the HDMI is forcing the sound to the TV.

In the end, I know I could just mute the TV, but I thought there was a way to make the 360 push sound through headset only.
As far as I can tell, the only option is to block voice/chat through the TV speakers, nothing else.
Should be in the settings of the Xbox for all sound to go to the headset.

I really like both headphones, but having decided to keep just one, I'm going with the HyperX Cloud (1). I love the fuller sound more, even if I am losing the VSS (Virtual Surround Sound). I like the heavier bass (not overly) and certain highs don't puncture the ear drums.

The Sony Golds are wonderful and if I didn't randomly read about the HyperX Cloud (1), I would have been perfectly content using them for many years to come.

Black Ops 3 - I liked the way the guns sounded more and the environment around me.

Madden 16 - I've never played a sports game with a headset regularly, but it truly immerses you more into the crowd chants and to a small extent the commentary. I bet lowering some of the in game volume controls would make it even better.

Anyways folks, this is Disco and that's my two cents.

Special thanks to everyone whom to took time answering all my headset questions over the last several weeks.

      Happy Holidays and gaming
Picked up the hyperx cloud using them with the in line amp from the Sony silver headset not only do they sound great they are well built and very comfortable.

That is awesome!! Enjoy the headsets and believe me you made a great choice. I don't know what type of amplification the Sony in line amp can provide, but I feel that I found a real gem with the "Creative Sound Blaster E1" (portable amp).

          Hi guys

I'm curious will the turtle beach Px22s work on a ps4? I don't think they will but was looking at them wondering if I plug the USB port in the ps4 and the audio cable into my receiver maybe it will? I don't think I would be able to use the microphone but the headset should work

I just tried and everything seems to work okay. I just plug the usb in ps4 and the jack into my receiver. The ps4 even recognized it. The mic is working also. I will try it out today on some games to see how it sounds

I love my Sony Elites but after about an hour or so my right ear starts to hurt. Almost like they are too tight. Any one have any issues with the Gold headset?

Same with me except it is my right ear. It really sucks because I love using them

That uses to happen to me after extended play time with my old Turtle Beach headset. On my right ear in the same spot each time.

But it's never happened on the Golds. The cans have more space in them than my old TBs.

I'm sure this has been discussed in this thread, so forgive me for not going through all posts to find opinions.

I need opinions on these 3 headsets from the more knowledgeable gaming headset users.

Few things - I game on the Ps4, XB1 and PC. PC I already have the G930's so I don't care if these headsets work on PC or not. I play XB1 about 90% of the time, so having a set that works on Ps4 would be nice, but not really necessary.

So with that, which headset is the best? Is the mixamp on the Astros good/worth it? What is the difference between those A40's and the A50's? And lastly, if Astros are better to go for, are those the two best to choose from, or is there a better set to consider?

Thanks for help guys. I'm a headset n00b, and looking to purchase within next week.

                        Astro A40's with mixamp.

A40s are wired, A50s are wireless. The cord on the A40s is pretty short too.

I have the Astro A50's and love them. I won't pretend like they aren't very expensive because they are, but I can wear them for hours myself.

They are good (they are Astros really, skullcandy bought Astro), but they have some durability concerns.
