It would be pretty tough to beat the Golds if they would have spent an extra $2 for a more robust headband. Unless your head is the size of an avocado, they are almost certainly going to crack and break at some point within the first year or two you own them.

That's silly, you don't know that for sure. Everyone's different, not everyone's experience with golds is gonna be your experience. And yes I realize it's happened to many people but that doesn't mean it's a sure thing to happen to him. I can also speak from experience on the opposite end of the spectrum.
I've said it at least three times in this thread, I've had my golds since they released for the PS4 (Feb 2014) and other than them being loose now due to age not a single crack, break, or anything.

I know there's a lot of reports on the web about build quality issues, maybe we see the lucky ones, but my golds are one of my favorite purchases this gen"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

You avocado shaped head people will never understand![emoji22]
Haha, my big ol' head (I guess) cracked mine after a lot...A LOT...of use. I just taped them up and they still work great. When the time comes I will gladly buy another pair of Golds to replace these.

My replacement pair I noticed the same thing happening after a couple of weeks, so I just applied Sugru to the band and went on with it, they definitely won't crack all the way with that on there.
Here is the picture I took of my golds' cracks, can't say for sure they would have cracked all the way, but they were definitely cracked. I'm flexing the headband here, otherwise you couldn't see or feel them.

Re: Gaming headsets
I checked again, no indentations or anything, and the looseness has been there for about a year already.
And by loose, right at the swinging hinges if that's where you meant. That's where mine have become loose the last year.
I think I've more than gotten my money's worth out of therm. If they were to ever crack I'd just go Coff's route with them and give em to my son.
Then buy a new one of course.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Good idea. I got mine this past January and it's one of the better purchases I've made. Absolutely love them. No issues with wear or cracking or anything either. I treat them well, yes, but I constantly take them on/off during gaming so the band does get worked out.New England Patriots

Re: Gaming headsets
Here is 3 pair I'd recommend
Beyerdynamic 880 32 ohmhttp://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-8.../dp/B000F2BLTM
Also the playstation pulse elite is quite possibly one of the worst headsets for comfort I've ever tried.Last edited by Dogslax41; 06-16-2016, 09:46 AM.Comment
