Gaming headsets

Quick question. Do you have to reinstall the preset settings each time you use the headset? Thanks

They store in slot one or two and stay till you change them via the companion app.

Double check on this because 2 things are happening to me. I'm storing 2 different sounds 1 on each slot. When I close the app and re open it the 2 sounds I picked are no longer their and shows both my slots empty. Also, when you try to customize sounds it doesn't save either. Seems like it's broken. With my Golds the sounds would be there when I would go back and check.

Edit: After doing some research on this it seems like the app is broken and isn't saving anything on the plats which is sad. I hope Sony fixes this issue because it's very annoying right now.

Damn, you guys got me wanting the platinum set now. Out of my price range for now. Just bought a 4K TV, and a PS4 Pro. So yeah.

I'm really liking my HyperX set though.

They're absolutely awesome, only reason I picked them up as soon as I did was because of the flash sale on Amazon Jare linked the other day. They were only like $112

Otherwise I'd still be using my Golds, mine are launch golds and still no cracks or anything. Just kinda loose is all. Plats are superior in every way. Watched some 4K films with them on the other day with the 3D sound switch turned on. Also changed the preset on the companion app for action and turned them up, wow they sound nice for their price point.

I know there's gonna be better but at the price I got them and wireless, you can't go wrong.

Yea nothing is saving not even custom sounds. Even when you change the sound presets they're not sounding any different from each other and not saving. They need to update the companion app.

Bolt has summed up the Plats better than I ever could. Just wanna chime in and say I agree with everything he was said in this thread about them.

When it was all said and done I paid about 116 bucks total for them and for that price I feel they are a steal. They are a step up from the Gold's in every way, some ways more than others. Durability, build quality, feel, all top notch. Overall sound quality is a decent step up from the Gold's, overall, with the 3d audio showing the most improvement for me. Mic on these is much better as well. Battery life seems improved as well.

Loving them so far. Playing Horizon with just the standard bass boost mode (until they fix the app), and it's a joy.

When they are on sale again I definitely recommend picking them up.

You're right. I've also noticed this now. Saw others online asking the same question which seems recent. I wonder if the update last month did something?

If anyone can try this along with what I did. Instead of closing out the app, press the PS button and just go into your game. See if its a placebo effect or the changes did matter. Can't really determine.

I tried many different presets including custom and noticed no difference at all between them. The app is broken and needs to be updated. I want to crank up the bass a little and at this point can't. Someone online told me if you crank up the bass more it sounds a lot better but I guess I'll have to wait for Sony to update the app.

You jerks just made me return my HyperX set and order the Plats. lol

I also traded a few games that have been collecting dust towards them. Will be here on Wednesday!

I liked it, but there was a couple issues I had with it. Most importantly I was getting audio cut out quite frequently. Not sure if it was the headset or not. I reset the controller multiple times, and it would seem fine for a bit then happen again. And second I know the Show is gonna make use of the 3D sound feature on the Platinums. Plus I felt the stereo wasn't really giving me a good sense of what was happening around me in BF1.

I still don't get why they didn't put that dongle built into the new PS4's. I don't have a spare USB port to even use a PS4 headset again. VR in one USB or my controller and hard drive in the other. I love my wired turtle beach headphones though, but miss wireless at times.

Didn't know they had cord issues. I haven't heard of those from friends that have had them and the times I've worn them in limited environments they've sounded great.

But if that's the case it sounds like he made a great call to move on
