    Re: Gaming headsets

I got the X41s 25% off from Best Buy after owning the x11s and WOW what a change. Much more comfortable, has a removable mic, so when Im not talking, and I dont want it in my way, I just pull it out, and best of all it sounds SO much better than the x11s. It also has this cool chat boost feature, where the chat volume automatically adjusts to the game volume so I can hear both clearly. Also the fact that it shuts off when im not using it to
save power is perfect. I'd recommend these for anyone willing to spend the
    extra cash.

    Happy Holidays!

Maybe he has a picky head, but the X41s feel exactly the same as the X11's. My friend has the X41s......The only difference between the 2 is one is wireless and the other is wired. One has a removable mic and one doesn't. That is the only difference.

I mean both have separate chat and game volume controls. Only one does it automatically and the other you have to do manually. They both have the same speaker drivers.

Maybe I'm dumb, but I can't get the sound to come only through the headphones. It's coming out of the TV speakers and headphones.

I'm using the alternate connection using HDMI.

Maybe I need a Xbox HD AV cable ad well?

If I switch to the cable that comes with the 360 that you can switch to HD it works.

          I dunno too much.

I know on a PC that issue was caused by not having the mic muted in the windows sound properties. I wonder if it is something similar.

Yeah, I have a picky head, mostly big ears though, hah, the cups are a little bigger so they fit my ears well.

Also they sound better than the X11s, the Dolby 7.1 surround sound compared to the stereo sound is not so much a HUGE difference but a very noticeable difference, but the 50 dollars more than the 11s was worth it, in my opinion.

EDIT: Brandon, try putting the mic straight out so its at a 180 degree angle, dont bend it in towards you, surprisingly it will pick it up if you were to even bend it the complete opposite way from your face, you shouldnt hear the echo when its at a 180 degree angle.

I don't see a way to get the sound just through the headphones and not the TV as well using an HDMI. I figured you could.

The headsets are still amazing. I know they aren't the best Turtle Beach has to offer, but they are a lot better than the ones that come with the 360.

                    That did the trick. Thanks!

Yeah man, everybody was yelling at me because it echoing through, so I tried everything through trial and error and finally got it, you are not the only one.

Also I use a digital receiver for my sound, so I just turn that off and have it come through the headset. It worked right away for me, dont think you have to mess with any settings for it to work like that though.

Ok guys, I am no longer going to use my Samsung HDTV LED anymore for gaming.

The input lag on HDTV's is beyond killing my enjoyment on video games.

I bought a Samsung LED monitor 2ms response time and no input lag which has made me a beast in COD BO...

When playing Madden I am able to juke easier and move easier. It just feels quick and responsive to what I press on the controller.

My issue is that the monitor has no speakers but it has an Optical input and a head phone jack for my Iphone head set.

I want to only use my monitor for gaming in my room but have no speakers.

I have a sweet surround sound system in my HDTV in the living room.

I was wondering if I can buy the turtle beach to just play in my room with my monitor.

                        How would that work.

                        Is it possible

It is actually an optical out and mini audio jack out for headphones or external speakers PC speakers.

It uses the audio signal transferred over the HDMI.

To get the headphones that use RCA's to work. You need a Y adapter that has L and R, RCA jacks and a mini stereo plug. They sell them for under $10 at Radio Shack or online as well.

Just purchased the Logitech G35 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset from Best Buy online with taxes and free shipping for $68.69

Almost 1/2 off the going price

Only way to get at or near this price in the past was either the dented box special or with rebates.

The monitor has no speakers but it has a jack for headphones. not the regular headphone jack. It is the small one for the likes of the iphone head jack

The monitor has an optical input as well.

What do I need besides what I have
