You can't go wrong with Astros, the A50 is nice but the battery life of the headset leaves a bit to be desired. If you don't mind wired the A40s are quite awesome.

Turtle Beach XP Sevens are another nice option, they too are wired.

I don't think I care that much about wireless. In terms of sound quality is there much of a difference in the Astros?

I own the A50s and have used the A40s, IMO there is no difference between the A40 and the A50.

It's time to make full use of that, so I'm looking at headsets.

Is the Sony Gold headset the best choice for PS4 or are there better alternatives? I'm looking for a good headset, but in that 100$ price range. Had to aks here because I know absolutely nothing about headsets or anything technical.
Figured I should post it here, instead of the PS4 thread.

I have the Pulse Elites and have had them about a year. I thought about trying to sell them and getting the Golds, but I don't imagine there is that much of a difference, is there?

Another thing to consider is the weight. I have the TB PX5's which I absolutely love other than they are a little on the heavy side because they are wireless.

I don't have any experience with the Astros though so they maybe fairly even as far as weight goes. Something to think about.

I agree with most that have posted that the Golds are excellent on the PS4. My question is anyone tried them with the Xbox One using the headset adapter? I hear they work, but just wondering if anyone here is using them with any issues when it comes to chat and game audio on that system.

                    Re: Gaming headsets

A friend of mine has the A50's. I'm not sure if you can adjust mic settings or he just doesn't know how to, but that mic picks up alot of background noise. It sounds like he has a hairdryer running non stop, but apparently he says that's his PS4 making that noise. Either his PS4 is not working properly or that mic really picks up alot of noise.

                      Re: Gaming headsets

I just returned two sets of A50's for two entirely different reasons so take that with a grain of salt if anyone decides to splurge on those. It's sucks because they do sound stellar. I'm just not willing to go 0-3.

And there are no mic settings to adjust other than to increase either the voice or game volumes to suit what you want to hear.

Having trouble trying to figure what headset to get...all I know is I want a surround sound headset cause I play a lot of first person shooter that I can use with the One and with the PS4. I'll probably get one later in the year and want something around or under 200.

My surround receiver died shortly before I got my PS4 in January, so I went a different direction and bought a headset for the first time. I picked up the Sony Gold the other day and love it thus far. Light, comfortable, and very happy with the sound quality (it sure beats TV speakers!).

I haven't used it for chat yet, but it's gotta be better than the console one. Looking forward to trying it with a bluray or maybe Outlast to see how the VSS works. FIFA isn't the best test for this, although the crowd & atmosphere sounds so much better. And those hecklers in The Show are gonna sound awesome!

Can anyone give me feedbacks on the Turtle Beach P11? I just ordered one and it hasn't arrived yet. Is it any good for fps games?

After reading about these in this thread, I just ordered a pair off Amazon. Been looking for an alternative to the TV speakers as well, but not wanting to break the bank on a headset. Will be here Wednesday.
