I got them for Christmas, loving them. A little tight fitting to start but they break in quickly.

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I want to pick up the platinum headsets. Hopefully they're available soon at Best Buy.

Any reviews or impressions of these floating around yet? I preordered them via Amazon with a gift card and they're supposed to arrive on the 19th. Anxious to hear some impressions/reviews.

Years after their initial launch, the PlayStation Platinum remains one of the best PS4 headsets

Looks like many Gametops have them already, but I don't see them at best buy yet. At least not on their site. Don't feel like taking the trip to the store unless I know they already have them. I hate Gamestop's return policy so I don't ever buy from them.

Picked up the plats this morning and after about an hour- hour and a half they are far better then the golds I have. Durability doesn't appear it should be an issue like on the golds. You can also load pre set sound configurations to both the 1 & 2 slots unlike the golds which only let you upload one. Overall I am very impressed with them so far. Very comfortable on the head and ears also. The sound quality after only a little bit and these are far superior to the golds in sound and very comparable to my buddy's Astro a50's for about half the price.

How's the bass on them? One thing I dislike about the Gold's is the weak bass.

It's a lot better then the golds. Not exactly on par with the A50's but not real far behind. You definitely feel in the game a lot more as in more involved and feel like you are there.

Read PC mag's review on these earlier and they said the bass is still weak on these. Why can't Sony just make PS4 gaming headphones with nice bass?

Because they want to keep it at a reasonable price range.

You want more bass than what the golds or plats offer then go after a different set of cans.

As I said not on par with the a50's but not real far off. And the bass is a lot stronger then the golds. I know for R6S you can really feel the difference.

Bolt hit it on the head. You are getting what you pay for and these fit in the middle range of headsets but do a damn good job of competing with the upper echelon.

I am still impressed with this headset and and so glad I didn't hit the $250-$300 price tag for a headset that I like a lot and will get good use out of

I got a set of the Turtle Beach 350VR for use w my PSVR on sale at Best Buy last week and they work really well, very light on the head too, which is important since you already got the PSVR on your head..

The golds I can understand but these at $160 are price at the mid range point so asking for decent bass shouldn't be an issue IMO.

                                Re: Gaming headsets

I ended up canceling my preorder for the plats and went with the newest Gen 3 A50's. The Amazon gift card helped a lot on the total price. I had, I think, the first gen A50's where some users had issues of the headset not charging correctly and/or cutting off so I returned those a few years back. I was reluctant to return them as the sound and comfort were unmatched in a "gaming" headset but for $300 I expected perfection. I figured those issues I had are long resolved in the Gen 3's so I'm back to A50's, which arrive tomorrow.

The 3D audio of the Plats is certainly intriguing, though not much support as of yet. Maybe I'll give them a whirl down the road. Anxious to hear more impressions on them.
