The Plantronics RIG 800 LX are fantastic headphones that work on X1 and PS4, also gives you an Atmos code for the X1 (which normally costs you $15)..

They plug into the X1 or PS4 controller so not completely wireless but they are very, very light and comfortable. I have had them for about 6 months now and love them. Plus they're not super expensive either

Was checking on these and even called the company cause they have Dolby Atmos and they said you can only use the Atmos with one device for Surround Sound.

Went ahead and ordered the Plantronics, got them for 120$

What do you mean only use the Atmos with one device? PS4 doesn't support Atmos. Only Xbox One. That's probably what they meant.

I have these and like I said, works with both Xbox One and PS4 for surround sound, just Atmos only works on X1

Have to say thanks for the suggestion of getting these headphones, you were right about them being really good and very comfortable. They came yesterday and tried them for a few games and the sound was incredible. First time with surround sound headphones and I even turned my head once because of the sound. [emoji23]

I have the HyperX cloud II. Debating whether I should get the Cloud Alphas or Revolver S. I plan on plugging it on my mixamp.

Anyone of you tried all 3 and if you can you tell me what you recommend?

The Cloud II's have the game/voice chat with it. I tried the Revolver S, but didn't think they were that comfy. I have the Alpha's they are easily the most comfy set of headphones I have ever had. The mic is good as well and detachable. The sound on the Alpha's are amazing. I pair these with my Astro Mixamp for playing games like Siege and Blackout. Directional sound heaven!

I have the cloud pro for work...I skipped the version with 7.1 cause I wasn't going to use it. They're amazingly comfortable and sound great. I was worried about them being as comfy as my razer carcharias, but those were starting to get static. I'd go HyperX again.

Want to get a headset for my X. I don't game online a lot. This would mainly be used for playing solo or for movies (atoms app). Would hope that it would work with PC as well but not a deal breaker. I don't know jack about gaming headsets so hoping for some input from you guys. Recommendations? Not super concerned about money but don't want to spend more then I need to. Thanks in advance.

I use the Sony Platinum Wireless Headset (wired for Xbox One X) along with Dolby Atmos for headphones.

Dolby Atmos for headphones cost $14.99

Since Xbox and Windows 10 both have windows sonic (virtual surround sound) and atmos for headphones, there really is no need for any specialty "gaming" headphones as the virtual surround sound was the main thing that set them apart in the past. Really the only addition they give now now is a wireless option if you desire that.

If you are OK with plugging it into the controller, get any non-gaming headset that sounds good to you and is comfortable. I personally have always used a pair of V-Moda M-100 paired with their boom mic addition. That boom mic can be used on any headset with a 3.5mm in (there may be some cases where it might not fit based on headset design though) to add a mic for gaming.

Stupid question: So I don't need special headphones for Atmos? I thought the headphones have to do something special too? I plug my Hyper X Alphas (or something like that) and my older Razer Carcharias headset into my controller.

Would I have Atmos if I just pay for the app or something? I thought I needed special tech too.

Looking into it apparently it'll sound great with any headset, just not tons of games that use it. I'll pay 15 bucks when a few more games I might play end up having it.

I'd recommend these as a solid headset. I have the 800 version of these. For $59 they're a good bargain, $20 off right now.
