    Re: PS3 network settings problems

    Re: PS3 network settings problems

It doesn't say anything about a DNS error. And my laptop is working fine with the wifi, so the router is ok. I'll try to find the UPnP option, and see if I can activate it or something.

I can log my PS3 on to the net, using other wireless connections available around here, but I don't like connecting this way, and the connection speed is probably lower and less stable than mine.
    My Specs:

    ZX Spectrum
    CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
    GPU: Monochrome display
    RAM: 48 KB
    OS: Sinclair BASIC

Log into your router and make sure you're using the right password.

        Re: PS3 network settings problems

I've tried on my laptop to punch the address for logging on to my router online page (or whatever it is), but it wouldn't show me the password.

I have the password written on a paper. I wrote it down when I first started using it - I think it had a pssword and then changed it to a longer one. I tried both passwords - the original short one, and the longer one - making sure I use all the small/caps/numbers as it's written - but it doesn't work.

You need to make sure you are using the right passcode man.

I disable UPNP because it doesn't allow my connection tests to complete (on both PSP and PS3), FWIW...

The option to do that is in my router setup page, and I haven't noticed any ill effects from it. I can still game just fine on the PC and all my systems.

              Re: PS3 network settings problems

I've tried to log on to my setup page, but seems like some details are missing there. But I'll try again and find the UPNP option.

So far my PS3 is connected to another wireless network, or so it seems, and it works fine. If I can't log on to my own network, I'll stick with that and we'll see.

              Thank for the help, guys!

                Re: PS3 network settings problems

Here goes my shot in the dark: can you check out what kinda signal your router is pumping out? 802.11 b/g/n? If it's an N router with it set to "802.11n", then try setting it to "802.11b" or "802.11b only" first to see if the PS3 connection works. I'm pretty sure the PS3 is not compatible with N.

                  Re: PS3 network settings problems

Thanks. I'll try it tomorrow probably, and see.

Anyway, the PS3 is cool. I don't mess around with most of the stuff. Was just checking for demos at the PSN Store and stuff like that. I'm not into making my PS3 a computer, I already have 2 of these. I Almost downloaded the NBA Live '10s demo...lol...but it seemed like it would take some time to download (and I'm not even sure how big the demo is).

So the deal was like that: PS3 160 GB + Uncharted 1 + Modnation Racers = $288. Not bad, eh? I didn't really care about Modnation, so I traded it in (as a used games, even though it was brand new sealed, but Gamestop wouldn't 'buy' a new one from me). So instead of it, I got myself NBA Live '09, since I was curious to see how things been going...on the "other side"... So far, I'm enjoying playing the game, and will keep playing it until 2K11's price drops (I'm done playing games on my laptop, so 2K11 is out of the question for now). Too bad I can't get the OKC Thunder add-on (I can't find it, seems like it's gone). And since there's probably no more of the 365 thing, I've been updating the rosters myself for the 2008-09 season, as much as I can.

I'll probably buy NBA 2K8 (a used copy, I guess) soon, just to get myself a 2K title. 2K9-2K10 won't satisfy me these days, and I heard great things about NBA 2K8 (I'm not into College Hoops, though), so it'll be my next game to buy. I'm also into FPS/TPS games, so I'll see what older shooter games are available for lower prices (probably from 2007-2009).

That's it for now. Back on topic...if there's still point for that...
