You know, with my kids starting to get into gaming, and with me playing more Nintendo first-party titles (I bought the Wii around its launch), I am remembering what I loved most about gaming. The Wii U can't knock our socks off with specs like the next Xbox and PS, but what Nintendo understands best is how to envelop our senses with fun and delight.

Mario, Kart, Zelda, these games produce more joy out of me as a 37 year old than the majority of other new releases. The characters never seem to get old, especially to kids, and the gameplay produces more fun than I've had since I was a kid myself.

I am really excited about the future titles they "announced" today. We all knew they were coming, but now that they're somewhat tangible, I'm really looking forward to what Nintendo is going to bring to my favorite hobby, gaming.
100% agree, I have had a ton of fun with my Wii U. Graphics sell games but fun keeps you playing..too bad most developers don't understand that..

I played the Rayman demo with the kids over the holidays. That was fun and the kids loved the Castle Rock board but I'm not a fan of the board where we HAVE to use the help guy for multiplayer. It's nowhere near as fun imo. Those boards, similar to the Mario help option, just seem forced and better off as traditional boards. Hopefully there aren't many of those in the real game because that would affect my decision to buy the game.

Got back into playing Sonic Racing after a couple of weeks with Black Ops and 2k13. Forgot how fun and insane the game is. Mario Kart is going to have a hard time topping it in my book.

I seriously cannot wait for Lego City in March. I'm currently addicted to Lego Batman 2 on the Wii and want a new one to play on the U.

Not regretting my WiiU purchase one bit. Love playing it with the family and the game pad feels natural.

Anyone have any idea when the Yoshi game will come out? My kids really liked Kirby's Epic Yarn and this is supposed to be similar. I just hope it's longer than Epic Yarn.

My kids and our entire family still love NintendoLand. Tons of hours spent on that game. I just with the motionplus wasn't required for some of the games as we only have one.

                    Just a heads up,

Looks like Nintendo will be doing something with TVii for the Super Bowl, not sure if it's anything out of the ordinary but i'm going to be checking it out...

I hope this is temporary if it's true.

Recent developments have brought into question whether EA will be supporting the Nintendo Wii U in a reliable manner going forward. At the Q3 financial call last week CEO John Riccitiello made sure to avoid lumping the relatively new console in with the company's definition of the next generation of gaming. Ours is an industry where

Makes a lot of sense. If you aren't getting ROI from development on platforms that have tried to do their own thing, they'll be the first to be abandoned.

It's Nintendo's own fault for making their system so much weaker than the others. It'll only get worse as the generation goes on.

doesnt bother me, i just want nintendos first party titles, although i love ZombieU and hope that some 3rd party devs stick with the system for its creative potential.

It's capable of current gen ports, and modern engines should be easier to scale down to lower hardware than it was with the wii. But it's not like EA has given the best effort with their games so far anyways. Madden was stripped down launch garbage. Mass Effect 3 was a late $60 outsourced port right around the time other platforms got the trilogy pack. EA has also said that it will not get any of the paid DLC. Need For Speed Most Wanted is another late port, will most likely be $60, and EA will use its failure as further proof that the wiiu isn't worth supporting.

It doesn't really matter what Nintendo does with their hardware, the perception is that their audience only wants their games. The Gamecube was comparable in power to the Xbox, but it was labeled as the kiddie box. The only way Nintendo can ever get great third party support again is by buying it.
